Exotics Plays for the Glen Cove Stakes

October 8th, 2025

A total of 10 sophomore fillies are entered for the grass in Saturday's $175,000 Glen Cove S. (G3) at Aqueduct. The six-furlong dash on the outer green features a very competitive group with multiple major contenders in the heat.

Glen Cove Exotics

  • $4 exacta key box 10 with 2,4,5 ($24)
  • $2 trifecta key 10 with 2,4,5 ($12)
  • 50-cent trifecta box 2,4,5,10 ($12)

Trainer Miguel Clement has a pair of serious players in the cast, including #10 Annascaul, who seems destined to earn her first stakes win in the contest. The American Pharoah three-year-old has never run a poor race in her lifetime and comes in off of a daylight allowance tally at Saratoga on Aug. 23. The chestnut homebred owns a pair of runner-up results sprinting on the lawn in the stakes ranks in her lifetime and gets a nice draw on the outside of this cast. Junior Alvarado will guide the tactical lass, and the price should be fair.

The fleet #5 Pop Idol bagged the Galway S. at The Spa two back prior to tiring in the lane after contesting the pace with stakes foes at Woodbine most recently. One of two in the field for George Weaver, the bay daughter of Maclean’s Music will be forcing the action from the break with John Velazquez in the stirrups.

Stakes heroine #4 Me Governor was a black-type winner in her lone prior outing over the oval and makes sense in this spot. The daughter of The Factor has pace in a field lacking a lot of early foot, and the Kentucky-bred was last seen dominating allowance foes at Colonial Downs. The Carlos David pupil will always be in the mix beneath Ricardo Santana.

Clement’s multiple stakes-winning #2 Love Cervere is consistent and classy, and the daughter of Into Mischief has to be included in the wagers. The stout late runner was a big second at Kentucky Downs in her most recent outing and will be a menacing figure with even slight improvement off of that performance. Manny Franco will be in the stirrups.
