A cast of seven fillies and mares will vie in Saturday’s $125,000 Wintergreen S. at Turfway Park. #1 Devassa (7-2) has run a pair of good ones since arriving in the states and will make her second appearance of the season on this occasion. Trained by Paulo Lobo, the Group-2 winning five-year-old raced in the Likely Exchange S. in her 2026 bow, which was also her initial attempt on the synthetic, and the mare ran a winning race in defeat when a clear second at the finish.
Wintergreen Exotics
- $10 exacta box 1-4 ($20)
- $1 trifecta 1,4 with 1,4,7 with all ($20)
- $1 superfecta 1 with 4,7 with 4,7 with all ($8)
Devassa has posted a pair of maintenance drills in advance of her second local attempt and will be saving ground throughout the heat from the rail. The daughter of Alcorano will tuck in behind the pace early before doing her best work late with Walter Rodriguez in the silks.
The Brad Cox-trained #4 Literate (7-5) captured the Likely Exchange S. while making her 2026 debut and has improved her Brisnet Speed rating in three straight outings since joining this outfit. The Grade 3 winning daughter of Oscar Performance sports a 10-5-1-1 lifetime mark on the all-weather, and the mare could sit a nice trip behind a swift and contested pace on Saturday, as well. The Kentucky-bred bay, who was a nice third behind a star in the My Charmer S. on the course two back, will make one run in the lane beneath Luan Machado.
#7 Storm Miami (8-1) was purchased for $155,000 in January and hopes to provide her new connections with instant dividends in the affair. The Blue Point mare has registered a few decent results on the synthetic in her lifetime, and the Amelia Green pupil could enjoy a perfect voyage from the outside post in the group, too. The tactical mare will be in the second flight early behind a contested early tempo, and the contender will get first run on the deep-closing types at the top of the lane at a square number under Victor Carrasco.
