First Picks At My New Kentucky Home

I have to admit to having a little extra spring in my stop today as I entered Churchill Downs, as this was my first day reporting for work at the World's Most Legendary Track that's now my "home" track.

At about 30 miles away, I'm not exactly down the street from Churchill Downs (or even in the same county), but the home of the Kentucky Derby is now my closest live racing venue, and I'm pretty excited about not only spending more time here but also helping my kids fall in love with racing as I did when making trips to Thistledown with my grandfather.

How quickly does home track advantage set in? Hopefully we don't want too long to find out. The Thursday twilight card has some standouts on my paper, but there are the usual landmines. 

Best bet of the night based on morning line is #9 Devious Rumor in race 9. The dirt to turf angle intrigues, and the Will Rogers to Churchill angle could help our price. Full grid below:
