Five Up and Coming Greyhounds You Should Be Following At Southland
Over the past few months there have been a good many young greyhounds who have started their career on the Southland track and we wanted to take this time to recognize several of them and give the viewing and betting public an opportunity to watch them move up the ladder at the most competitive track in the country. I posted this for the first time in August and here is September's list. I have listed them in alphabetical order and will keep you updated on their progress. If you see a greyhound you think bears watching please feel free to let me know as we all see different racers in different ways. For listing purposes I've limited the choices to those young greyhounds who have had 10 or less official starts up to this point. Thanks for reading and good luck should you decide to use these greyhounds in your wagers.
CHASMO'S DIESEL - This impressive young greyhound has had 4 official starts and has already moved up to Grade B. He has three wins and a second so far and has looked strong in each outing with convincing wins of 3, 10, and 13 lengths as he moved up in grade. He appears to have a nice inside running style and with his strong early rush combined with a good closing move, his future is bright indeed.
COUNSELOR - Could be the most talented young pup to step foot on the Southland track in quite some time as he is off to a fantastic start with a sparkling record of 9 starts with five wins, a second, a third and two fourth place finishes. With that said, it's not just the 9 out of 9 top four finishes that stands out about this greyhound, it's the way he gives everything he has in all of his races to this point. There is no quit in this pup and he will no doubt be a force to be reckoned with at Southland for the foreseeable future, or any other track for that matter. He's the real deal.
CROWN AND CRAFT - Another rising star who in eight official starts has garnered four wins already. His running style appears to be mid to wide and he shows a good strong rush which will prove valuable as he continues to gain experience. He comes from a nice litter and has the potential to be a solid top grade runner for quite some time in my opinion.
KIOWA DOT D J - A consistent effort by him so far as he has 9 top four finishes in 10 starts including two wins. He shows decent early speed and with his inside running style can be among the frontrunners in a good many of his races. Perhaps not a threat to win each time out but certainly worth including in tri and superfecta plays.
TRACKINFO NOW - A very nice greyhound who started her career with two solid schooling wins and who has followed those of up with two wins and a second and third place finish in her four official starts. With a big early rush to the turn and her mid to wide running style, if she can hit the lid consistently she will be worthy of consideration as she moves up in grade.
Good luck to all and thanks for reading. If you have greyhounds that you've noticed running good early in their careers that I have overlooked always feel free to email me with your selections.
