Greyhound Preview Palm Beach 10/30/2014

October 30th, 2014

*Storm Control*

Terrific Thursday racing action coming your way today at the Palm Beach Kennel Club. One of the best racers at the club Storm Control goes against an all-star laced field in Race 6, along with many other competitive races all afternoon long.

Here are the top races I will be following for the Matinee at “The Beach.”

Race 6 Grade A 545 Yards

The race of the day without a doubt.

Spring Puppy Stakes Champion #6 Storm Control from owner Steve Schlachter is absolutely the one to watch in this one. Came off a four month layoff sizzling races times well below 30 seconds. Lost out to the best greyhound here in CRT Leyla last time out but "Stormy" should be able to take this race today. Dynamic rush on this outstanding racer.

Many quality racers have a legit shot to upset Storm Control. Outside specialist #8 Atascocita Padua from Suncoast Racing has won over 70% of her career races from this box but hasn’t looked as dominant in the past few months. I still like her to hit the ticket but that’s all.

Watch out for double Pink Ribbon Winner #5 Pat C Hooraw from owner Patrick Collins, who has 4 wins this month and a 29.50 secs best time.

Storm Control should prove to be too much for this field today.

Picks 6-8-5-1

*Albatross*

Race 14 Grade B 545 Yards

I’m favoring #1 Aimeecita from Rader Racing here. The A grade hound dropping down had her last win from this box and in this class. Should have a solid rail rush. Fastest race time this season as well (29.74 secs).

Watch out for #5 CRT Dominic, who is grade dropping too. Long shot prospect could be Cubs name sake #6 Kane’s Ron Santo, who could just have enough break to steal this one.

Puppy Stakes Finalist #1 Albatross draws the hot box and may get a price as he is just getting back to A Grade.

Aimeecita gets back to the top class where she should be.

Picks 1-5-4-8

Race 15 Grade A 545 Yards

#8 Rip N Runnin from B & B Racing looks to be in a good spot here. Just won from the outside last time out and has been in the money in 78% of her races this season.

One of the most dynamic closers at the club who is always worth the watch is #5 JS Big Mack from the Koppe, Staats & Collins Team. Some of my favorite races this season have come when Mack is right in the hunt because he can run down any greyhound here.

I’m going with Rip N Runnin to get the twofer in the finale.

Picks 8-5-2-3

Top Pick - #6 Storm Control

New Top 10 Rankings coming next week. Can anybody slow down CRT Leyla?
