Greyhound Preview Palm Beach For 10-14-2014
By Palm Beach Jason
Great card for your Tuesday racing enjoyment today at Palm Beach. One of the hottest super sprinters here Nikita’s First goes for season win #10 in Race 4, along with some of the best middle distance racers here competing in the finale 15th.Here are the top races I will be following for the Matinee at “The Beach.”
Race 4 Grade TA 301 Yards
Track announcer Mike Jameson said that #4 Nikita’s First from the Janie Carroll Kennel is the best super sprinter currently running here. Now he said that when KB’s Like A Fox & Bae Sang were both out, but Mike may be on to something here. Nikita will be going for her 7th win in 8 starts and has a chance to tie for the season wins lead with a 10th win this afternoon.
Nikita will face a strong challenge from right next door in kennel mate #3 Aye Doctor Ron, who has three straight Place finishes. Also look out for hot shot rookie transfer #5 Validity from the Brindle Kennel, who will be looking for three straight W’s.
Can’t go against Nikita’s First with how hot she is here.
Picks 4-3-5-8
Race 14 Grade A 545 Yards
Can they catch the early speedster?
#3 PJ Smoke Em Out from the Agganis Kennel is one of the best lid flippers at Palm Beach and will no doubt set the pace in this race. Has hit the ticket in 95% of his races this season, but is notorious for coughing up the lead at go time. I’m looking for a closer in this one.
#2 Flat Richard from the top kennel Rader Racing has the dynamic close I am looking for. 8 wins already this season and is sitting in a nice spot on the inside.
Long shot that could surprise is #5 RCK Penske’sBest from the Champions Racing Team, who has been in the money in 6 straight.
Flat Richard closes out his 9th win of the season this afternoon.
Picks 2-3-5-7
Race 15 Grade A 660 Yards
The race of the day without a doubt.
Many consider (me being one of them) #8 Flying Fala from the Royal Racing Team to be the best middle distance racer at the track. Has been stinging wins lately, going well under 38 seconds in both of her last two starts. Will have the opportunity to get out in front today from the outside post.
#1 Flying The Who from owner Vince Berland was the best middle distance racer here for months last season until she went on an extended break this summer. Starting to race back into shape and now gets the best box to bolt out of today. Has a chance to get career win #20. I don’t think she is ready to overtake Fala, but it may be in the near future that it happens.
Flying Fala closes out the Matinee with her 9th win of the season. Possible Kennel rivalry starting between these two stars?
Picks 8-1-3-6
Top Pick Race 12 - #1 Stormy Brogan
