Greyhound Preview: Palm Beach for 3/27/2014

March 27th, 2014

by Palm Beach Jason

15 terrific races for your Thursday enjoyment will be on display at the Palm Beach Kennel Club. World famous announcer Mike Jameson will be calling them home for you all day long. Here are the top races I will be following at “The Beach.”

Race 2 Class D 545 Yards

I don’t usually like many “D” races but this one is playable. The #1 Bring It Cindy loves the inside, recently grade dropped and is sitting next to a dog that is 0-55 all time here. Nice early speed and inside close as well. Good way to start off your day.

Picks: 1 - 7 - 5 - 8

Race 6 Class B 545 Yards

The best setup of the day without a doubt. #1 JS Angel Touch from the Koppe, Stats & Collins Team has 12 wins on the year and is a Grade A hound dropping down. Has won the last two times in this hot 1 box and has been a fixture in the “A” class for 14 months. The only other contender I can see in this one is the #4 HS Bridezilla, who is also grade dropping. Have to go with the best setup here with Angel Touch.

Picks: 1 - 4 - 8 - 3

Race 9 Class J 545 Yards

The #8 PJ Rush Along from Agganis Kennel is absolutely in a perfect spot here to rush to the lead. Stellar break from the outside and the 7 going inside open up a huge lane for this early speedster. Can be a bit short but should not matter in this one. Box to wire should happen here.

Picks: 8 - 4 - 5 - 3

Race 12 Class A 545 Yards

Very competitive “A” grade race in this one and is my race of the day to watch. #3 Kiowa Carmen has the best early speed to get to the turn first and has been running toe to toe with the tracks best all month. She also beat the world’s best Rob Gronkowski on 2/22. I think she gets it done here in a very tight race.  The other racer that must go in your Quin/Tri/Super play is the #5 Racin Razzi, who has hit the ticket 85% of the time this season. Carmen I think gets out in front and takes it home.

Picks: 3 - 5 - 1 - 8

Race 15 Class B 660 Yards

The finale for the card ends with a 3/8ths mile showdown of many former “A” graders trying to get back into the top class.  The inside usually has the advantage at this distance here and this race should be no different. #2 Bayzide drops down in class and loves the inside post to get out in front. The biggest challenge will come from the #8 Flying The Who. Has a chance to sneak behind Bayzide and steal this one with her late kick to the wire.

Picks: 2 - 8 - 7 - 4

Top Pick 6th Race JS Angel Touch

Top Sleeper  14th Race Superior Raylen
