Greyhound Preview: Palm Beach for 3/28/2014

March 28th, 2014

by Palm Beach Jason

Another 15 fantastic races are on deck for the Friday Matinee at the Palm Beach Kennel Club.  Superstars and up and comers highlight the card to start off the weekend. Here are the top races I am following at “The Beach.”

Race 4 Class TC 301 Yards

One of the biggest advantages at Palm Beach is the 1 box on the super sprint course and today should be no different. Veteran #1 San Tan Snuggles drops down in class and gets the prime box to fire out of. Last time in this TC class, all Snuggles did was blaze a 16.92 sec three length win. Should have pressure from the #8 Boc’s Habanero, but hang on at the wire:

Picks 1 - 8 - 4 - 3

Race 6 Class B 545 Yards

Three “A” graders drop down to “B” in this one. #8 HKF Daphne is setup to go on the outside with her mid-track rush and the 7 going inside. #2 Atascocita Padua and #3 NB’s Perazzi  join Daphne in grade dropping and should all hit the ticket:

Picks 8 - 2 - 3 - 7

Race 12 Class A 545 Yards

The race of the day has three greyhounds that will be in my Top 10 Rankings when they come out this Tuesday. #2 Submariner and #4 CRT Yusef are coming into this race on two race winning streaks. #6 Relativity has 25 wins on the season, good for third on the wins list here. The wild card is #3 San Tan Spangled, who arguably has the best close at the track, but really struggles to pop the lid out of the box. It came down to the rush to the turn for me and Relativity is the best of this bunch. Only once in his career has “Einstein” been caught from behind on the lead.

Picks 6 - 4 - 2 - 3

Race 14 Class A 545 Yards

Very competitive “A” race here, with many early speedsters trying to hold on at the wire. #1 Circle Unbroken and #8 PJ Smoke Em Out will no doubt be at the front but is there a good enough closer to catch? #3 CRT Leyla could and is coming off a win. She also will be a major factor when the Puppy Stakes start next month. Problem is that her only wins in this top class have come out of the 8 box. Going with the 1 here.

Picks 1 - 8 - 3 - 2

Two up and coming stars from the Rader Racing Team to watch on this card are:

#3 Lil Buddy Rocky in the 8th Race is looking for his 3rd win in his first 4 races. Already has blazed a 29.80 sec time in the 545.

#4 Winta Jackal in the 11th is racing for her 5th win in 7 tries. Looks like an absolute beast with an outstanding rush and a 29.41 sec best time.

Top Pick Race 4 -#1 San Tan Snuggles

Top Sleeper Race 2- #3 London Paris
