After being treated to an awesome visit at The Palm Beach Kennel Club last weekend, I am reminded of how special a place this greyhound track really is.

The Tuesday Matinee features some of the best greyhounds this track has to offer and should be able to hold you over until the Puppy Stakes start again on Wednesday.

Here are the top races I will be following today at “The Beach.”

Race 2 Grade D 545 Yards

Grade D races can be very tricky with greyhound racing. You have up and comer greyhounds, along with veterans that may still have something in the tank to give.  In this one, #8 Provacator from the Royal Racing Team is an up and comer who is absolutely setup to go here.  Love mid-track and his best time of 29.67 secs is the fastest time of this field.  Should roll in this one.  Look for #4 Palm City Tempo to hit the ticket as well, as she is 14/18 in the money (78%.)

Picks: 8 - 4 - 6 - 2

Race 4 Grade TC 301 Yards

The drag race with a twist, also known as the Super Sprint here at Palm Beach, brings a Grade TC race full of racers that all are light on the win percentage.  That’s when you start looking for class and #3 Oh Mamma has the most of it here. The former A Graders drop down here going for season win #5 for the Koppe, Staats & Collins Team. Could see a challenge from #7 Heatwave Candles, who is the only other true C Grader in this race. Must put these two racers in your exotic plays.

Picks: 3 - 7 - 4 - 1

Race 12

When you get a quality Grade A hound dropping down to the lower class, plus the hot 1 box, it is very tough not to play it. #1 CrazyZack is doing just that and is in a race where not a whole ton of early steppin is evident. The Southland transfer has been very competitive in the top class. Should see some early push from the #2 AMF OneCoolDude. Possible longshot possibility is #8 CRT Logan, who love mid-track and recently won out of this box on 3/21.

Picks: 1 - 2 - 8 - 3

Race 14 Grade A 545 Yards

The race of the day without a doubt.  Early speedster #8 KB’s Royal Roy is going to bolt out of the box for the lead.  Problem for him is when he rounds the corner for home, the gas tank runs out and the closers move in.  #1 CRT Yusef from The Champions Racing Team is going for season win #22 and is arguably the best closer at this track. Another racer to keep an eye on is #3 Racin Razzi, who is in the money 88% of the time and can close as well. #5 JS SpeedyPebbles for owner Shannon Henry is a top greyhound at this track but needs the lead to win. Won’t get it here.  Razzi closes it out at the end for the win.

Picks: 3 - 8 - 1 - 5

Top Pick

Race 2: #8 Provacator

Look for my Third Round Puppy Stakes Preview coming on Wednesday. Good luck owners and players!
