Greyhound Preview: Palm Beach for 4/22/2014

April 22nd, 2014

by Palm Beach Jason

We are ready to go for the Tuesday card at Palm Beach. Great storylines to watch today, as one of the best in the world Bae Sang gets fired up on the Super Sprint Course in Race 4. There’s also some good plays to be found among these 15 races. Here are the top races I will be following for the Matinee at “The Beach.”

Race 4 Grade TA 301 Yards

The racer today to follow without a doubt is #6 Bae Sang. Arguably, one of the best in the world at this distance and most likely the best this track has seen. The Rader Racing superstar just came off two straight wins over teammate at the Kennel, season wins leader KB’s Like A Fox.  Sang has won 80% of his races on the season and should have no problem leaving this weak field in the dust. Chalk up another W for the #1 racer currently at Palm Beach.

Picks: 6 - 8 - 2 - 3

Race 6 Grade B 545 Yards

#8 JS Angel Touch from owner Shannon Henry jumped right off the page at me when I first looked at this race. This has been a consistent “A” Grader since January 2013 and has a major history of winning in the lower class. On top of that, she gets the hot 8 box too? Too much good info to ignore. #4 Super C Chelsea should be near the front and is the only one I see that could possibly pull the upset.

Picks: 8 - 4 - 3 - 1

Race 14 Grade B 545 Yards

One of my favorite plays at Palm Beach is when the top A Graders drop down to the lower level. Problem in this one is there are two of them that have a good chance at taking this. #6 Hilco Score from B & B Racing was one of the hottest greyhounds going a few weeks ago when he went box to wire with blistering times of 29.40 and 29.54 secs. Last three races have been forgettable, but he has a great past history of winning in this JV class. #8 PWS Cadishack is the other greyhound to watch. Gets the prime box and is sitting next to a slow breaker in the 7. I’m going with Score here on a win/place because he’s an overall faster racer, but don’t be surprised if the 8 is right there as well.

Picks: 6 - 8 - 4 - 1

Race 15 Grade A 545 Yards

#1 Kiowa Carmen from the Royal Racing Team is setup very nicely on the rail here. Loves the inside with her early steppin and her neighbor in the 2 doesn’t flip the lid especially well.  With two wins this month and solid showings since the start of the calendar year, she certainly will be a first timer into my Top 10 Rankings for April.  #6 JS Fruit Loops is coming off an impressive eight length victory last time out and has the best chance to upset Carmen.

Picks: 1 - 6 - 4 - 3

Top Pick: Race 4 - Bae Sang
