Greyhound Preview: Palm Beach for 7/12/2014

July 12th, 2014

by Palm Beach Jason

Superstar Saturday indeed at Palm Beach today!  Incredible card that includes 2013-2014 Season Track Champion KB’s Like A Fox, the puppy prolific Albatross and Relativity returning to action has me geared up for this action.  Should be a great watch all afternoon long.

Here are the top races I will be following for the Matinee at “The Beach.”

Race 4 Grade TA 301 Yards

The one to watch is the reigning champ of Palm Beach #1 KB’s Like A Fox from top Kennel Rader Racing.  Gets the prime 1 box for the drag race with a twist, where he is undefeated all time out of (5-0) and doesn’t have main rival Bae Sang to contend with here.  37 wins last season and looks to stay undefeated on the young season.

#7 Oh Mamma from owner Cheyenne Criswell has the best chance at any upset.  Did beat both Fox and Bae Sang on 6/28, but that was an absolute shocker.  I don’t expect that to happen here, but a Quinela/Trifecta hit is highly probable.

Like A Fox stays hot and continues his dominance on the super sprint circuit.

Picks: 1 - 7 - 3 - 2

Race 12 Grade A 545 Yards

#5 Relativity makes his season debut for owner Chris Straka today at Palm Beach.  “Einstein” finished 4th in wins last season here with 27 of them and looks to carryover that experience into this season.  Dynamic rush and a never quit attitude made this greyhound a fan favorite for me and many other Palm Beach followers.

#7 Racin Razzi from B & B Racing is the most consistent board hitter at Palm Beach. 93% in the money all time is an incredible stat but can she steal this from Relativity?  Has a superb close and if she is in the hunt could steal this one.

Wildcard is #2 Daphne Zuniga who will need a board hit today to stay in the top class or she will be demoted to B Grade.

I’m going with Relativity to hold off Razzi just barely at the wire.

Picks: 5 - 7 - 2 - 6

Race 14 Grade A 545 Yards

The race of the day without a doubt.

#1 Albatross (aka “The Big Bird”)from Rader Racing missed out on the Grade Ladder last time out but will continue to get better with experience.  Owner Norm Rader will be keeping this potential superstar here for the Stakes season coming up in the Fall/Winter, so the fans and players will have the opportunity to see potential greatness prosper right before our eyes.

Albatross will be outrushed by veteran #8 Atascocita Golda from Suncoast Kennel in this one, which may spell doom for the rookie sensation.  Golda had 28 wins last season and has one of the best rushes around.

Look out for #3 Stormy Brogan who has finished in the Trifecta in six straight.

Golda teaches young pup Albatross a speed lesson in this one.

Picks: 8 - 1 - 3 - 4

Top Pick Race 4- #1 KB’s Like A Fox
