Greyhound Preview: Palm Beach for 7/16/2014
by Palm Beach Jason
What an absolutely fantastic card that is on tap for the Wednesday racing action at Palm Beach! The greatest rivalry possibly in all of greyhound racing between KB’s Like A Fox and Bae Sang is the main attraction in Race 4, along with CRT Team Thunder continuing her Ladder run in Race 10.
Here are the top races I will be following for the Matinee at “The Beach.”
Race 4 Grade TA 301 Yards
The race of the day without a doubt.
The rivalry between two of the greatest super sprinters of all time continues today. #1 KB’s Like A Fox from Rader Racing stumbled last time out, but is an 80% winner out of this prime 1 box all time. The season wins champ from last season cannot stumble today because Kennel mate #6 Bae Sang will make him pay.
The rivals meet for the 6th time all time, with each racer taking 2 of the them and #8 Oh Mamma from owner Cheyenne Criswell stealing one on 6/28. Don’t expect this upset again today, but I do think Mamma hits the board and stays in it.
I’m going with The Fox simply for the setup here in the best super sprint box. Bae Sang taking this is also highly probable as well.
Picks 1-6-2-8
Race 12 Grade A 545 Yards
Very quietly, #2 CRT Team Thunder from The Champions Racing Team has been climbing the Grade Ladder. Undefeated through her first 4 races, she hasn’t gotten the hype that Albatross was getting just a few weeks back for the same run. Showing a dynamic rush to start her career, I believe she has a great shot of keeping the Ladder run going today.
Biggest threat for the Ladder derailment comes from #5 Palm City Lingo from owner Randy Doubles. The recent top grade drop has been right in the mix the last three races and loves the mid track.
#7 Flying Fala is the wildcard here. Was a beast down in Birmingham, winning 8 times last season but is just learning Palm Beach and may not be ready to take a W quite yet here.
The Ladder run continues for Team Thunder as she stays hot this season.
Picks 2-5-7-1
Race 14 Grade A 545 Yards
Making a big time case for being in my Top 10 Ranking for the first time is #3 Atascocita Padua from Suncoast Racing. Like Team Thunder, she is also undefeated on the young season and will look for her 4th straight W here. She really prefers the outside, so this inside box possibly could be a problem.
Former Stakes finalist #2 CRT Majestic is back racing at Palm Beach. The 16 time winner last season and racing back into shape and is always a threat to go all the way. Blazed a 26.69 secs win last time out and will certainly be a force in this race and this season.
Look out for #7 CRT Yusef, who may have the best close out of any greyhound here.
Padua stays on fire and gets the W here.
Picks 3-7-1-2
Top Pick Race 14- #3 Atascocita Padua
