Greyhound Preview: Palm Beach for 7/19/2014
by Palm Beach Jason
Superstar Saturday is ready to get rolling today at Palm Beach. The greatest rivalry in all of greyhound racing Bae Sang and KB’s Like A Fox again battle for super sprint supremacy in Race 4, along with my favorite race The Marathon going in Race 10. Should be an excellent card to watch and play all afternoon long.
Here are the top races I will be following for the Matinee at “The Beach.”
Race 4 Grade TA 301 Yards
The Rader Racing rivals meet once again in this one. This will be the 7th overall meeting between #1 Bae Sang & #6 KB’s Like A Fox, with Sang taking 3 wins and Fox taking 2 of them. Sang has been in the money 96% of the time the last two seasons at Palm Beach, the best board hitter at the track. Gets the best box to fire out of here, where he bolted a 16.55 secs blazer last time in it on 6/22.
Never count out last years Track Champion with Fox, who had 37 wins last season on this course.
This will be the lowest paying Quinela ever with these two, so a Trifecta/Super play is in order. Look for #3 Go Bon Dillon & #5 It’s a Factor to round out the ticket here.
Bae Sang again takes super sprint supremacy over his rival today.
Picks: 1 - 6 - 5 - 3
Race 6 Grade A 545 Yards
#7 Ninis Chipotle has really stepped his game up for owner Laura Brady in the past two months. Comes off an impressive victory last time out, he is setup to go again today. Loves mid track and is showing the rare combo of stellar rush and dynamic close. Should love it outside in the 7 hole.
Hot puppy prospect #6 Bocs L Janis I’m interested to see here. Has finished in the money in all nine of her starts, including three victories.
“Chip” gets his second straight victory for Rader Racing.
Picks: 7 - 6 - 5 - 3
Race 10 Grade TA 738 Yards
I love that Palm Beach has made this distance a regular part of the program again. It is by far the hardest race to handicap because no greyhound at this track has been able to put together consistent performances on the Dixie Course.
#2 Superior Ragae from B & B Racing may just be the one to change that trend. She went box to wire last time out in this same box and is sitting between two non-breakers at the start. Most of this field was in that race last Saturday and Ragae was dominant over all of them.
The upset could come from #3 Windy Becca. She just switched over to this distance and has scored consecutive Place finishes. Has a fantastic close, which is exactly what you need in the Marathon.
Wildcard is rookie #7 Rumor Has It, who has her own box to wire victory on 7/5.
Ragae gets her second straight W after this one.
Picks: 2 - 3 - 7 - 4
Top Pick Race 6- #7 Ninis Chipotle
