Greyhound Preview: Southland for 4/23/2014
by Moneymaker Mike
A good looking twilight program awaits this Wednesday evening at Southland with several exciting grade AA races among the picks along with a maiden race full of potential for a big upset. Please check out the choices below for some nice opportunities to increase the bankroll. Good luck to everyone and thanks for reading.
Race 3 - Here is a grade M race over the 583 yard course and I'm going with a longshot here to get the evening started with a bang. I like the (6) CBJ Liberty to come out with a strong early rush and be in real good position to get the win down the stretch. The inside running (1) Kiowa Andy Allen is set up nicely as he likes the rail and should be close at the finish. The (4) Ahridgeuhnull is more than capable of a big race as he shows both early speed and good closing ability, a must use pup for sure. Rounding out the pick I will also play the (8) Small Town Boy who has had his share of trouble lately but the outside box is sure to help as he likes it mid-track.
Picks: 6 - 1 - 4 - 8
Race 4 - It's a very talented field we have in this grade AA race over the 583 yard course and I'm going with the rail running (1) WW's Grover who loves the inside and last time he had this box he went box to wire. I like him to do the same here though the (2) Mega Vast will go paw to paw with him right out of the box. The hard running (7) Ribbett can't be overlooked as he has finished in the top four 17 out of 18 times this season including 11 quiniela finishes. The morning line favorite, the (6) Dundrum, is going for four straight wins in a row but may encounter some early trouble here.
Picks: 1 - 2 - 7 - 6
Race 7 - Here is another grade AA contest and the (8) HL's Travis gets my attention here has he loves to run mid-track and is well posted here to do just that. He will be out early and is hard to catch once he has the lead. The (1) Quick Reply is a rail runner and will no doubt be out quick here. In the chase also will be the (6) Heyl who gives a nice effort each time out and the (5) Dachamp who is going for two wins in a row.
Picks: 8 - 1 - 6 - 5
Race 18 - We will end the card tonight with a grade AA distance race over the 703 yard course and a race in which I like the (6) L's Flaco to pull off the win. He is 14 of 16 in the money this season and likes it wide. The (2) BOC's Yohanblake likes the inside and is positioned well to make it two wins in a row. The (1) RCK Go For Jen is also a rail runner and has the one box for the first time in over a month. To complete the tri and superfecta ticket I'm going with the hard running (5) Mahgrit.
Picks: 6 - 2 - 1 - 5
Tonight's Moneymaker play is in the 8th race, a grade C contest over the 583 yard course and is the (8) Pizza Joint who in her short career is three out of three from the eight box with two wins and a second.
