Gulfstream closes out 2015 FSS juvenile series with In Reality, My Dear Girl divisions

October 2nd, 2015

The Florida Sire Stakes (FSS) series for juveniles will conclude on Saturday at Gulfstream Park with the In Reality and My Dear Girl divisions sending fields 1 1/16 miles. Each contest boasts a $500,000 purse, and the My Dear Girl features the top three from the first two legs of the series.

It’s High Time, Silent Prayer and Ballet Diva will once again face off in the My Dear Girl after running in the Desert Vixen and Susan’s Girl divisions. Silent Prayer finished second in both those races, while It’s High Time and Ballet Diva switched places between the win and third.

Ballet Diva has been installed as the 9-5 favorite and will likely go off the choice after her wire job in the Susan’s Girl last out. The Stanley Gold trainee’s only loss came in the only race Jose Caraballo wasn’t in the saddle for, but that jock will be aboard on Saturday.

It’s High Time is looking to reclaim the winner’s circle after upsetting the Desert Vixen at 10-1 before finishing third in the Susan’s Girl. Conditioned by Jose Pinchin, the dark bay miss keeps Edgard Zayas in the irons.

Silent Prayer has yet to score a stakes win but has been close in her three tries thus far, all at double-digit odds. She’s been playing second fiddle to stablemate Ballet Diva all this time and will try to turn the tables under Jesus Rio.

Sweet Khaleesi is a newcomer to the FSS series and could make some noise after breaking her maiden by 10 lengths last out. That was her fourth lifetime try but first start for new trainer Joseph Hennessy, who has tabbed Diego Gomez to ride the bay lass in the nine-strong My Dear Girl.

Later on the card, an overflow field of 16 colts and geldings will line up for the In Reality. Tribal Drama brings a perfect two-for-two mark into the race after taking the second leg of the FSS series, the Affirmed by a neck over the re-opposing Abercorn on September 5.

Also exiting the Affirmed is Li’l Meatball, who rallied to just miss by a length in third, as well as Danbury (fifth), Brighton Lane (sixth), Fellowship (seventh), No More Chilling (eighth), Swagger Jagger (10th) and Mr. Kisses (12th).

Among those making their stakes debuts in the In Reality are Call to Honor, who broke his maiden by 3 1/4 lengths on September 7, and El Charro, a 4 3/4-length maiden scorer on August 29.

Gulfstream has also carded four other stakes for Saturday, including the $150,000 Foolish Pleasure and $150,000 Meadow Star divisions of the Florida Sire Stakes for sophomores as well as the $75,000 Our Dear Peggy S. for two-year-old fillies and the $75,000 Armed Forces S. for juveniles colts and geldings.
