Race 1 Post Time: 12:40 pm ET
Race 5 Post Time: 2:36 pm ET
The Rainbow 6 at Gulfstream Park is a jackpot wager, you have to be the only winning ticket to take down the pool, but when the pool get this large, over $1-million, it can pay very well even if you are one of multiple winning tickets. Wednesday's payout was almost $6,000 for the 20-cent minimum.
There are two ways to play; either shoot for the lone ticket or bet to win. Thursday's card offers an opportunity for both.
Race 5: With plenty of speed signed on for the Rainbow 6 opener, we will try to hit a home run with 20-1 morning line WINDSOR GARDEN. The four-year-old filly look like the lone true closer and can kick off the carryover with a bang. HAPPY VOYAGE and the favorite LUCKY EMPRESS project to sit decent trips just off the speed.
Race 6: This race has upset written all over it, maiden claimers going five furlongs on the turf with the three morning line favorites stuck in posts 10, 11 and 12. Not sure what trip HEAVEN HELP ME gets, but she drew well, has run in some key races and puts blinkers on for the first time. CLEVELAND is a first-time starter for Marty Wolfson and would not have to be much to break her maiden here.
Race 7: SIX QUEENS has not run since April 2013, but if she runs back to any of her two career races, she wins. The rail draw; however, did not help. BIG BELIEF has a conditioning edge on the favorite, making her second start off the layoff. She will get a good trip from just off the pace.
Race 8: Another full field on the turf that can go in a number of different directions so will start with IMAGINETHATMOM, who is only eligible for this starter allowance race after running for $25,000 in his debut. He has a pair of fourth place finishes in overnight stakes and a fifth place finish in a Grade 3. RUMBLEFORTHEROSES look good breaking his maiden last month and retains jockey Javier Castellano.
Race 9: The question for this race is where will the speed come from. There does not appear to be one single entrant that likes to break from the gate running. ANTONIA AUTUMN had speed two years ago, ran once last year then came back last month to win from well off-the-pace. She may be closer to the pace or here or may not be; a very hard race to predict.
Race 10: LOVELY ran like a filly that needed a start and now she gets on her preferred surface, turf, and looks like a good bet to win the night cap. If it's not her, it could be anyone.
