Harrington and Rosecroft Offer Good Thursday Cards
While many harness enthusiasts have already begun focusing on this Saturday's afternoon card at Yonkers Raceway in New York featuring the $1 million International Trot and two $250,000 Invitational events, one each for trotters and pacers, numerous standardbred fans will look to pad their bankrolls at Harrington Raceway and Rosecroft Raceway on Thursday.
Harrington's Thursday card will begin with an hour-long appreciation for Wiggle It Jiggleit, the local trainee and reigning hoirse of the year who captured the $150,000 Bobby Quillen Memorial four weeks ago over the Delaware half-mile oval who will headline the $250,000 Invitational for pacers at Yonkers on Saturday despite drawing post eight. Members of "Team Teague", including owner George Teague, Jr., driver Montrell Teague and trainer Clyde Francis, will be available for autographs from 4:30-5:30 Thursday.
Those looking to cash several tickets on the Thursday card at Harrington will not have Wiggle It Jiggleit to lean on later that evening, but they will have several plays throughout the card.

Then just past the midway point of the card, Rosietellthetruth (Teague) looms the solid favorite from the rail for Francis and owner Kovach Stable in this non-winners of two races or $10,001 lifetime class for pacing fillies and mares. A two-year-old daughter of Total Truth, Rosietellthetruth won her local debut handily as the 3-5 favorite and draws the favorable rail seeking a repeat score. Spinpressve (Davis) was fourth in the $100,000 DSBF final for freshmen filly pacers after winning an elim for owner-trainer-breeder and petite blacksmith Virginia "Leigh" Louthan.
Then one race later in a non-winners of one race or $6001 lifetime class for youthful male pacers, Somebeach Baron (Davis) should make his presence known early in his local debut for trainer Josh Green. After a pair of second-place finishes in the Pennsylvania Sire Stakes stallion series, Somebeach Dragon won a local qualifier by 10 lengths and should prove better than older rivals Three Hangovers and Dad's Boy.
Then two races later in a non-winners of one race or $6301 lifetime class for youthful pacing females, railbound Maggies Way (Vince Copeland) should finally find the winner's circle after several near misses, although Brian's Magic Girl (Davis) will be a formidable foe if the Wayne Givens trainee can stay flat throughout the mile. She already sports a 1:58 score over the oval against similar foes two starts back.
Tomorrow evening Rosecroft Raceway will offer a solid card highlighting the local pacing fillies and mares and several of them appear to be poised for their best effort of the season.

Fastertgirlaround (Frank Milby) has won 10 of 12 this year and 15 of 21 lifetime against MDSS foes for trainer Tony Sapienza and owner-breeder Gloria Kinnamon, but still fits this class because those other events did not offer parimutuel wagering.

This six-year-old Artiscape mare owned and trained by Jeff Clark sports a 4-9-3 slate and $95,000 bankroll from 25 starts this year, including a 1:51.1 score at Dover Downs where she was tabbed as the horse of the meet by the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the U.S. Harness Writers Association. She was second in the $16,500 Open Handicap at Harrington in her most recent outing behind the razor sharp Purrfect Bags.

Looking to upend the Delaware invader are Cedar Hall Heiress, who won a conditioned event easily last week and gets the rail here, Valentina De Vie (Henrik Lundell) who very rarely loses in this spot, Rhapsody Rose (Roger Plante, Jr.) who owns a win and three second-place finishes in four starts in this event at the meet for trainer Brian Fisher and makes the 200th start of her career Thursday, Dublin Rose (Jonathan Roberts) third as the favorite in this class last week and Sweet Bobbie (Jason Thompson) who overcame a first over journey to win this event last week for owner-trainer Gary Ewing of Ge's Romanero and Ge's Karla fame.
One race later in a non-winners of $4000 last five starts class for pacing fillies and mares, railbound Pop Writer (Roberts) seeks to end a recent skid while finally drawing an inside post for trainer Megan Roberts, while Spin Vision (Russell Foster) stays in this class after a two-length score last week for Louthan. Lyonssweetie (Thompson) delivered a gritty performance last week before settling for third as the favorite at this level and won two starts back for trainer George "Ronnie" Leager and owner Frank Miller, Jr.
Saturday's afternoon card at Yonkers Raceway features the $1 million International Trot and a pair of lucrative Invitational events for pacers and trotters as well as a solid supporting undercard that includes an Open for pacers, an Open for trotters and a 4YO Open for pacers along with a bevy of conditioned events.
