Holiday Extravaganza Round 1
It might be a Monday at bestbet Jacksonville, but you will get to see 6 stakes races on the card. Two each over 550, 660, and 770, but the finals might be even more fun than the semi’s. The top 4 performers from each race will move on to the finals of the Holiday Extravaganza, but we didn’t forget about the rest. We will also run consolation races on Saturday evening along with our super sprint stakes, 330 yards, our super marathon stakes, 990 yards, and our old times and maiden of the meet stakes for boys and girls. It’s the 12 STAKES races of Christmas that will coincide with our 12 races of Christmas promotion where we give away a ton of cash and prizes right before the holidays.
Let’s take a closer look at this tough, tough races, and see if we can get you making some extra Green on Monday, so that you can come back and join us again this Saturday evening for our extra special event.
Monday evening December 5th, 2016
Race 7 – Our first 550 event on the card is packed full of talent and could be won by several greyhounds if the mood suits them at the start. Big names file thru the ranks of this one, but you must pick a winner somehow, so let’s start with the one with the most wins showing. Real Good Feelin loves the outside and gets a great post to start this race from. In 4 of her last 6 efforts she has posted a victory and can win with or without the early lead in any race. She is the one to beat, but there are several that must a chance to do it. Ln Sugar is firing on all cylinders right now, 4 straight quinielas, and will give it an early speed go from the outside. Never forget about the best 550 closer at the racetrack, Charlie Bale, as he can run down anyone if he doesn’t sit in the box too long and gets around cleanly. Oh, and Ww’s Sammy gets the near rail post here as well. We all know what she can do when she breaks fast, here against this stakes caliber field, she will need to hit the lid if she wants the upset. (6-8-3-2)
Race 9 – Over to 660 for this race as I like the recent success of Gs Hal. Moving over to the 660 yards course for the Orange Park Derby, he not only made the finals, but has found a new home over the route. He has been getting better and better with every start, and that has shown in his last 6 efforts. With 3 wins and 5 quiniela efforts, his early speed has been a difference maker. Watch for another big start and for him to control this race throughout. Kiss This loves the rail and gets an ideal starting post in this race. Last time out in red, her last start, she dominated the field on the front end and won by a country mile. Here she does it again, but she must break fast if she wants to get it done. Others to never forget about include the multi-stakes finalist Kk Whitezin and Pat C Dashboard. Whitezin was the point leader in Orange Park Derby qualifying, finished 3rd in the finals, is hot off a win, and could close late and surprise them all again. Dashboard is a bit short late, but has not missed the superfecta in 6 straight trips, so tonight the trend should continue. (7-1-6-5)
Race 10 – Back to 550 again for this race, and if you are looking for a LOCK, look no further. All-American Seldom Told has been on a tear since winning the $50,000 Orange Park Derby, as he has not lost in his last 4 straight races over 550 yards since moving back to the shorter course. His last too have been in near track record time, and if he ever gets a fast track, he will set a new mark here at bestbet Jacksonville. He is as fast as he wants to be, has been breaking extremely well as of hate, and once in front forgetaboutit. He might not see the early lead here, he could, but might not, either way the rest of this field is no match for him late. Setting the pace and making him work at least a little is Flying Rose. Rose has been quite successful herself over the last 6 trips. Winning 4 times and not missing the trifecta, she is a big-time threat, but she is not in the same league as Told late. Posted well, she will contend and is the best shot at an upset winning tonight. Others to worry about include the talented newcomer Pat C Ramblin, who has taken to the racetrack well and likes the inside post position, and the former puppy stakes winner Pullanallnighter. Hot off a win, and 2 in her last 4 races, the 8 box and her early speed give her a chance as well. (3-2-1-8)
Race 11 – Over to 660 again and here we get to see if the early speeders can hang on and win, or will the closers get to them before the wire and take home the victory. Talent is all over the place once again in this effort, but you must like the chance of Lk’s Centuria. This greyhound has done very well over 660 and even 770 as of late and has enough early to make the lead and enough late to hold on all the way to the wire for the win. She can even come from just off the pace as needed to score at 660, and should be big time threat in this effort. I think she finds a way to get it done tonight. Pushing the pace and making her give her all will be So Typical. Typical can hold on every once in awhile and win, but usually she is too short at the end and settles in the back part of the money finishers at the wire. She has not missed the top 4 sports in 6 races straight, and the 2 box does nothing but help her efforts here. If she can hit the lid and get some help behind her, she might have a shot to survive at the wire and take it. Late both greyhounds better watch out for the greyhounds behind them that will come a calling in the stretch. Kk Scotchwhiskey will stalk the pace throughout and factor from the start to the finish likes he almost always does. With 5 supers in 6 starts he will factor, and Flying Gigawatt is the best closer here and will be hammering home to contend. He likes the outside post and could surprise them all if he is in the conversation at the break. (6-2-4-7)
Race 12 – The first of our 770 events on the card and this one looks like an all CLOSING affair. No greyhound here has blazing early speed. Gs Carina is the best of the bunch in my opinion, but will she be able to hold that all the way to the wire with all these closers coming at her late? That is the true question. She has never run this far in the past and I think it will take its toll on her in the deep stretch. We have some seasoned closing 770 greyhound and those are the ones that will be contending for this victory at the finish line. So, who is going to win? C Ville C Alice. Alice has won several 770 race against some top rate competition and will find a way to do it again in this effort. She always comes on strong late and has been known to break well on occasion from this box. One way or another, she will give her all and come out on top late. Pressing the leaders in the stretch too will be Lee Sally. Hot off finishing 4th in the finals of the Thanksgiving Marathon Challenge, Sally gets yet another outside post and will be flying in the final stages to try and steal away the win at the wire. Don’t sleep on Mr Tito either tonight. He loves the rail post and will be closer this time around over 770 yards. He could be the sleeper that no one looks at tonight that could upset everyone at the finish. (5-8-1-4)
Race 15 – The final race on the card is another pretty good lock for a win. This is the second race over 770 on the card and the TRACK RECORD HOLDER over this distance just happens to be the ranks. Herstal won the recent Thanksgiving Marathon Challenge and looks to back that up with another stake win before the year is out. First, she needs to win this effort and that is just what she is going to do. Truly the post Is not her favorite, but she will work with it as she can run down anyone in this race. Working for her as well is that the best early speed greyhound here is right next door. She will get room early and find a lane late to drive home and take the checkered flag at the wire. Speaking of early speed, Atascocita Warm, who was also a finalist in the TMC, should see the front end early again tonight. She runs tough if she is in front and she should be able to steal plenty on this field early on. She will be short late though and that will be her demise at the finish line. Others to consider in this race include the built to run this distance threat, Fiesta Bonker, and the DQ Williams Kennel runner Erik The Great. (6-5-7-2)
The finals, and the consolations, of these races will run on Saturday evening December 10th at bestbet Jacksonville. Six other stakes races will dawn the card too, including a 330, and a 990 yard races. All of this plus thousands of dollars in cash and prizes to be given away, and you can even win more chances if you place live wagers on Jacksonville at the track through Saturday matinee. Make you plans, grab some friends, and don’t miss out on our 12 Races of “STAKES RACES” Christmas Promotion this weekend.
