It's Breeders' Cup week and handicapper Tim Holland will try to build his bankroll with picks for Churchill Downs, Gulfstream Park West, and Mountaineer on Wednesday.

Churchill Downs

#7 Mailman Money (6-1) stretches out in distance off an even third-place finish over 6 furlongs here in late-September, his first outing since March. Son of Goldencents finished a good fourth in the Risen Star (G2) earlier this year and has won two of five career starts for trainer Calhoun, who wins with 21% of his runners second off a layoff. Colt can be in good position from the start with Saez remaining aboard.

Gulfstream Park West

Trainer Crichton wins with 19% of his runners that won last time out and saddles #4 Bajan Girl (5-2), who comes off an easy victory after leading from the start over the track and distance last month. Daughter of Speightstown finished fourth in the Gulfstream Park Oaks (G2) behind Swiss Skydiver in March and Crichton has won with 43% of his runners at this meet. Filly can be on or near the early lead with Prado retaining the mount.

Parx Racing

Race 5

Maidens going 5 1/2 furlongs include #5 Jamie’s Wanderlust (7-2), who closed some to finish third over the track and distance at this level in her debut last month. Trainer Linder wins with 19% of his maiden claimers and $70K 2-year-old purchase by Munnings is out of a mare by Ghostzapper, who has produced one winner. Filly can be along from off the pace with Ocasio again in the saddle.

Mountaineer

Race 1

James Chapman has won with 36% of his runners at this meet and saddles #4 Kiltoom (6-1), a debuting son of 16% first-out sire Kantharos. Out of a mare by Speightstown, whose offspring also win 16% of their first outings, gelding is a half-brother to one winner and has been working forwardly for Chapman, who wins with 16% overall in maiden special weight events. Chestnut can win at first asking under apprentice Cosme, who won with both of last two rides for this barn.
