Holland's North American Racing Plays for Nov. 13

A trio of selections from Churchill Downs are among the offerings from handicapper Tim Holland on Friday.

Churchill Downs

Race 3

#6 Don’t Recall (7-2) has not raced since losing chances at the start when unplaced in his debut at Fair Grounds over 6 furlongs in March. Son of Flatter has been gelded since his first outing and has been working well for trainer Stall, who wins with 22% of his runners that have not raced for 90+ days. Dark bay cost $175K last year and can be tough at this level under Mena, who has won with one of his last four rides for the barn.

Race 9

Blinkers are added to #5 Set Piece (7-2), who disappointed as the favorite when unplaced over the course and distance last time out in September. Son of Dansili finished third in the Craven (G3) as a juvenile and has won one of his three starts for trainer Cox, who connects at 24% when adding first-time blinkers. Gelding can be along from off the pace under Geroux, who has won with 23% of his rides for the barn in the past two months.

Race 10

Trainer DiVito has won with three of his 10 runners at this meet and saddles #6 Name Rejected (5-1), who was nailed late after leading from the start over 5 furlongs here early this month in his second outing. DiVito wins with 23% of his runners in maiden special weight events and son of Munnings is a half-brother to three winners. Chestnut may be the one to catch with Gaffalione remaining aboard.

Laurel Park

Race 3

#10 Moma Tiger (6-1) ships here for her first start off several solid works at Penn National for trainer Stites, who wins with 19% of his runners debuting in maiden special weight events. Daughter of 13% first-out sire Smiling Tiger is out of Proposed, who captured the Milady Breeders’ Cup (G2), and Stites has won with 14% of his starters this year. Filly appears ready for a good first outing with Cruz in the irons.

Del Mar

Race 7

A competitive allowance on turf includes #6 Salvator Mundi (5-1), who was last seen fading to sixth in the John Henry (G2) over 10 furlongs at Santa Anita in September after chasing solid early fractions. Son of Artie Schiller rallied from just off the pace to win over the course and distance two back for trainer D’Amato, who wins with 14% of his runners that have not raced for 46-90 days. Gelding can get a good trip with 25% turf rider Rispoli retaining the mount.
