Holland's North American Racing Plays for Nov. 17

Thoroughbred racing plays are available today for Parx Racing, Remington Park and Indiana Grand from handicapper Tim Holland.

Parx Racing

Race 9

#2 Septimius Severus (7-2) led from the start when winning his latest at Penn National at this distance last month and has won two of his seven outings on this oval. Son of Roman Ruler has a record of 6-2-1-1 over 6 furlongs and trainer Taylor wins with 21% of his runners that won last time out. Dark bay figures to be sent early and tough to catch under Rodriguez, who has won with 12% of his rides for the barn in the past two months.

Remington Park

Race 3

Trainer Helzer won with three of his last 15 first time starters and saddles #4 Good N Gorgeous (12-1), a debuting daughter of 14% first-out sire Euroears who is out of a mare by Lion Heart, whose offspring also win 14% of their first outings. Chestnut posted a sharp 4-furlong work in :47 4/5 from the gate a week ago for Helzer, who has won with two of his first 12 runners at this meet. Filly appears ready for a good first outing with Manrrique in the irons.

Race 9

Blinkers are added to #7 Light Frost (15-1), who faded to finish unplaced after showing some early run in her debut over the track and distance last month. Daughter of promising young sire Frosted is a half-sister to seven winners and has worked well since her first start for trainer Engler, who wins with 14% of his second-time starters. $115K yearling purchase may show more here with Wethey retaining the mount.

Indiana Grand

Race 3

#1 Ria Munk (4-1) hit the board in three of her four previous starts on turf and comes off a weakening fourth-place finish on the main track at Keeneland last month. Trainer Brisset wins with 14% of his runners making this surface change and has won with 25% of his starters at this meet. Daughter of Paynter should get a ground saving trip breaking from the rail with Canchari riding. (Turf or Dirt).
