Hollywood Park $79,599 Pick 6 Carryover - December 20, 2013

December 20th, 2013

Pick-6 Carryover time on Friday at the track of lakes and flowers, which starts with race three, a claiming race going six furlong on the turf course.  JULIO'S GOLD is going to try to take the field gate to wire as she runs first-off-the-claim for trainer Vann Belvoir.  The three-year-old filly has won back-to-back races for two different barns and looks the pick to make it three-for-three.  NOW HOPE was absolutely left with no room late in his last race and would be a value play; however, the cut back in distance does not look ideal.  MIDNIGHT LADY is the most likely favorite for the trainer/jockey combination of John Sadler and Rafael Bejarano.

Most budget pick-6 bettors will single RAMBLING HOUSE in race four, but, if you can, use GIANT COWBOY, who is trained by Craig Dollase.  Dollase has won with five of his last six first-time-starters, all with Edwin Maldonado and has yet to be worse than fourth with his last 10 debut runners.

Going two deep in race five with GALLANT CHARM and LONDINIUM, two prices horses for this wide open turf race.  Those two should be sitting good trips off the speed and can get the jump on the favorite RANSOM CANYON, who is 5-2 on the morning line, but has not won since before May 2012.

Race six is back on the main track and this one is a head scratcher.  The morning line favorite is TURN ON THE BRITES at a lukewarm 3-1 and there are four others between 4-1 and 6-1 on the line.  If DJ MANLOVE is ready to roll off the six month layoff then he could be done under jockey Joe Steiner for trainer Doug O'Neill.  AWESOME INDY drew well in post 10 and should sit the trip.

PROMISCUOUSSUANCES ran a winning race in her last and looks to be inside speed in the seventh.  She was a length and one-quarter clear of the third place finisher, Vegas Rules, who is also in this race.  J AND S EXPRESS and TANGERINE TICKLE were not helped with the post draw, breaking from posts nine and ten so the second choice will be OSCILLATOR, taking the blinkers off for trainer Jorge Periban.  The last jockey to win aboard Oscillator was Edwin Maldonado, who has the mount on Friday.

The finale is a tough maiden claimer for three-year-olds and upward and anything can happen.  AMERICA RISING is the morning line favorite at 7-2, making his second start off a layoff after finishing third in a similar race last month.  BURLISTER is a Bob Baffert class dropper that could win by 16 or lose by 16 as he did last out.  INDYGO ANDY is the long shot play out of the John Sadler barn and he may be a decent price with the 10-pound apprentice Drayden Van Dyke named to ride.  Van Dyke has won a pair of races and could just be along late to pick up the money.

First Post on Friday at Hollywood Park is 3:30 pm ET with race three scheduled to break from the gate at 4:32.  Let's kick off these last days of the track in style.
