A rise in class may not be enough to stop the winning run of Gallant Crown in the Hereford Handicap (1650m) at Happy Valley.

Gallant Crown is going for his fourth successive victory in the race, having improved greatly since being stepped up in trip to 1650m three starts ago.

All of those triumphs were at Class 4 level, and he is now stepping up to Class 3, and he faces a useful field, most notably the very consistent Incanto Prepared.

But with just 119 pounds to carry and a kind barrier draw of 3 in a field which may not have much speed, Gallant Crown looks to have every chance to continue his winning ways.

If there is some early speed, however, Incanto Prepared will clearly benefit. He doesn’t know how to run a bad race and is well worth taking at least for the show.

Topweight Naboo Star has been racing against some good fields and is worth considering, while one for odds could be Right Honourable, who has raced well of late in Class 4.
