How to bet the 2025 Awad Stakes

A total of seven juveniles will speed six furlongs over the Aqueduct turf course in Sunday’s $150,000 Awad S. The competitive heat looks to be a good betting race, and any runner in the group makes sense to me.
Awad Wagers
$12 win and place #6 Gypsy Art ($24)
$4 exacta key box 6 with 4,5,7 ($24)
#6 Gypsy Art, one of two in the field for trainer Wesley Ward, was a clear second in a stakes race at Colonial Downs at first asking, which preceded a third-place finish behind Breeders' Cup heroine Cy Fair in the Algonquin S. at Woodbine most recently. The $200,000 son of Munnings was more alert from the gate last time after breaking poorly during his unveiling, and he could put it all together on this day with John Velazquez taking the reins.
#5 Zuby is an interesting one for trainer George Weaver and merits some attention. A filly facing the boys, the Vekoma miss rolled home to a smart win in an off-the-turf dash at this venue at first asking, and has trained well in the interim. Her last handful of morning moves have all been on the green, and I like the aggressive move from a conditioner who has had success with this kind of move in the recent past. Eric Cancel retains the ride.

I love the huge step forward taken by #4 Glorious Boy last out when rolling home a daylight winner in her turf debut. Trained by Carlos Martin, the Independence Hall gelding was also wearing blinkers for the initial time in that maiden conquer, and while he must get faster to upset this field, a top-three finish seems to be well within his reach. Javier Castellano will ride once again and have the Kentucky-bred doing his best work inside the final furlong at a number.
Ward’s #7 Should’ve led throughout in a first out score at Kentucky Downs prior to checking in a close third in the recent Futurity S. (G3) on this course on October 2. Not This Time filly will face the boys for the first time, but she has good gate presence as well as a perfect post to match her running style. Regular pilot Joel Rosario will be in the irons.
