A group of seven juvenile fillies will travel 5 1/2 panels on the Colonial Downs dirt in Saturday’s $100,000 Keswick S. Three of the major players in the race are all coming off daylight wins, and one or more of these could turn into a really nice prospect going forward.

#1 Smooch Up (4-1) led from gate-to-wire as the favorite in a tour de force at Presque Isle Downs in her first endeavor. Trained by Ron Potts, the homebred daughter of Cupid has never run on the dirt, but she is the speed on the rail and I’ll tab her to lead throughout for the second straight time. The gray is from a very precocious family and is kin to a stakes winner, and she will have Ronnie Allen in to retain the ride, as well.
#3 Slewperstitus (5-2) went postward at 9-1 odds on this surface on debut but left little doubt as to who was best in the dash. The Robert Bailes pupil didn’t break well from her outside post in the heat, but she made a visually impressive sweeping move nearing the turn for home and carried that energy all the way to the wire en route to an 8 3/4-length victory. The dark bay daughter of Great Notion shows a maintenance half-mile drill in the interim, and she will be a menace in the lane with any kind of forward move off of her unveiling. Torrealba will be in the silks once again.
Michael Trombetta will saddle #5 Just Philtored (6-5) for the initial time after she aired at Laurel Park on May 23. Also by Great Notion, the bay filly overcame a tricky break to decimate her foes by eight lengths and has posted some nice morning drills in the interim, too. The March foal drilled a bullet from the gate most recently and will have Mychel Sanchez in the controls. If she gets off to a clean break on Saturday, then the Maryland-bred will be imposing throughout the dash.
