How to bet the 2025 Valley View Stakes

October 23rd, 2025

An overflow field of 15 sophomore fillies are entered to travel eight grassy furlongs on the Keeneland lawn in Friday’s $400,000 Valley View S. (G3). I believe that Juddmonte homebred #9 Tabiti (9-2) has the highest ceiling in the cast and will center my plays around that filly.

Valley View Wagers

  • $10 win and place #9 Tabiti ($20)
  • $3 exacta key box 9 with 2,3,8 ($18)
  • $.50-cent trifecta key 9 with 2,3,8 with all ($15)

Trained by Brad Cox, the two-time Group 3 heroine made her U. S. debut in the lucrative Music City S. (G2) at Kentucky Downs and overcame a poor break to finish a good third at 6 1/2 furlongs. The daughter of Kingman will race with the blinkers off in this one while getting more ground to work with, and I envision her using her natural speed to secure a nice spot in the early going of the affair with a big chance at the top of the lane. She has posted a quartet of morning drills in advance of her second run in the States and will be dead fit with Irad on board.

With the potential for a swift and contested pace in the contest, I will tab a trio of late runners to fill out my vertical exotics with the leading selection. #8 Reining Flowers (20-1) has great value for trainer John Ortiz. The Midnight Storm filly doesn’t fit the profile of a win threat for me, but she is pretty consistent and was also a winner in her lone previous try on the surface. The sophomore is better this campaign compared to 2024, and she will get a good pace set up to rally into, as well. Frankie Dettori will ride.

Chad Brown’s #2 Play With Fire (2-1) has come home second in both the Wild Applause S. and Lake Placid S. (G2) since arriving in this barn and is a very logical inclusion in the tilt. The Oscar Performance sophomore boasts a strong turn of foot, and from the two hole, the Minnesota-bred could be saving ground all the way to the turn for home, which will aid her late burst. Flaven Prat will take the reins once again.

#3 Ramsey Pond (12-1) was a smart allowance victress on the course in April and last seen coming home a good second while facing her elders in a Kentucky Downs allowance event. The Saffie Joseph pupil is not a deep-closing type, but she is always passing runners late and will be in the hunt for a share while making her second off the long layoff. The Divisidero lass will have Edgard Zayas in the stirrups.
