How to bet the 2026 Hill Prince Stakes

The Miguel Clement-trained #6 Caroline St. Beat will lead a cast of nine sophomores postward in Saturday’s feature at Belmont Park, the $200,000 Hill Prince (G3). Run at 1 3/16 miles on the inner turf surface, the grassy tilt attracted some very talented runners, but the race will go through the New York-bred.

Hill Prince Wagers

  • $12 exacta 6 with 9 ($12)
  • $6 exacta box 6-9 ($12)
  • $2 trifecta key 6 with 1,4,9 ($12)

Caroline St. Beat is a neck shy of being unbeaten in 2026, led by a tally in the lucrative Nashville Derby (G2) at Kentucky Downs in his initial run with open company last time out. The chestnut son of Tiz the Law toppled a fine group off short rest on that occasion, and a repeat of that showing will make him a formidable presence in his local bow. Manny Franco will be reunited with the improving stalker.

Jersey Derby victor #9 Third Coast ran a nice second behind a tough winner in the Gio Ponti S. at Saratoga in his latest outing, and I like his chances to be in the hunt late on Saturday. Trained by Tom Proctor, the Uncle Mo homebred has kept some strong company this campaign and has never run a poor race. He has early speed at his disposal, and the outside draw could be a big benefit to him in this particular contest with Jose Lezcano in the irons.

Old Dominion Derby (G3) victor #4 Lennox the Grey is a neck shy from having reeled off four wins in succession in advance of the contest for trainer Arnaud Delacour. The Liam’s Map sophomore was game in holding off a horse that I like a lot at Colonial Downs most recently, and he gives me the impression of a colt that will prosper with the added ground in the heat, as well. Antonio Fresu inherits the live mount.

#1 Print is always passing horses late while running shorter distances and will appreciate the stretch out in distance, as well as the rail draw, on Saturday. Trained by solid turf conditioner Robert Ribaudo, the chestnut son of Munnings impressed from well off the early pace in an allowance score at Saratoga on Aug. 29, and he has exotics appeal to me at a square price beneath Ricardo Santana, Jr.
