How to bet the Glens Falls Stakes

July 25th, 2025

Conditioner Miguel Clement holds a strong hand in Sunday’s $250,000 Glens Falls S. (G2) at Saratoga with three quality entrants among the eight for the grassy affair. Fillies and mares will travel 1 1/2  miles on the inner turf surface, and of the three for Clement, I like #6 Bellezza (5-2) best of all.

Glens Falls Wagers

  • $1 superfecta 6 with 1,2,8 with 1,2,8 with all ($30)
  • 50-cent superfecta 1,2,8 with 6 with 1,2,8 with all ($15)

The Slyouni filly flashed a lot of potential overseas as a sophomore and made good in her stateside debut when eclipsing the Sheepshead Bay S. (G3) at Aqueduct while defeating the very good Beach Bomb in May. Moyglare homebred made her first run on the local lawn in June and finished a creditable third in the New York S. (G1) over a yielding course at 1 3/16 miles. The Irish import stretches back out in distance on this occasion, and her best will make her very dangerous beneath Joel Rosario.

Graham Motion’s #2 No Show Sammy Jo (9-2) has run arguably her best two races when marathoning on the sod, and she seems likely to improve in this endeavor. The Lope de Vega five-year-old missed by a nose in the Long Island S. (G3) at 1 3/8 miles in her 2024 finale and comes off a sharp allowance try when second most recently at Aqueduct. Manny Franco will guide the versatile mare.

#1 La Mehana (3-1) has been consistently good for Clement and had a nice tune-up for Sunday when rallying for a smart allowance tally over Motion’s filly. The six-year-old sports a 5-2-0-3 mark at the trip, she is well placed on the rail, and the mare will also run for a conditioner who is enjoying a strong meeting in advance of this affair. Flavien Prat will take the reins, which only adds to her appeal.

Bill Mott’s #8 Immensitude (8-1) hasn’t been sharp in her last pair of tussles, but the Lawman mare has some back class and can be quite good on her best day. She will be included with Junior Alvarado in the silks.
