#2 Biddy Duke led at the first two calls of the recent La Brea (G1) and is sure to be sent from the break. #3 Qahira and #4 Acting Out also possesses speed and will be in the hunt early on. I expect the pace to be quick which will aid my top pick, #1 Amuse, who will track the early tempo from just behind the leading trio.

Kalookan Queen Contenders

#1 AMUSE -- Medaglia d’Oro mare draws inside seeking her initial stakes triumph for Mandella. Lightly raced 6-year-old has run well in each of her last three assignments on the main surface, and she is training like a horse sitting on a big effort as of late. Drayden Van Dyke retains the mount.

#2 BIDDY DUKE -- Speedy sort from the O’Neill barn tired in the stretch against much better last time out. Bayern filly will have the blinkers off on Sunday, but I still expect her to be in the hunt from the start beneath Rispoli.

#3 QAHIRA -- Cairo Prince mare has produced four fine races dating back to 2019 for Baffert. The 5-year-old has suffered each of her three lifetime defeats on the surface, but her best showing will give her a big chance in the affair with Rosario in the stirrups.

#4 ACTING OUT -- Fleet Blame filly has been dominant in two straight performances in preparation of her graded bow. Art Sherman trainee continues to train in swift fashion, and she will be forcing the action from the opening bell under Cedillo.

#5 DYNASTY OF HER OWN -- Two-time stakes heroine comes in fresh off the long absence for Wong. Daughter of Shanghai Bobby is working in solid fashion, but she will need a lifetime best to topple this field off the shelf.

#6 MO SEE CAL -- Win contender from the Miller shedrow was a sharp stakes winner two back, prior to trying the turf last time out. Uncle Mo mare gets a fine draw outside of the small field, and she will receive a robust pace to rally into in her third start off the long layoff. Flavien Prat will take the reins.
