How to wager on Ed DeRosa's September 10 #BykPix at TwinSpires

There are four wagering promotions that deserve your attention this weekend:

1. 20% rolling doubles at Louisiana Downs;
2. Showvivor at Kentucky Downs: Hit 5 $5 show bets on the 10-race card and split $500;
3. Bet $500 on Woodbine races by Wednesday, September 14, and earn 20x points on all wagers Woodbine Mile day, Saturday, September 17; and
4. 1-million points split among those who hit the Pick 5 at Los Alamitos and 50x points for those who bet at least $50 and don’t (hit the Pick 5).

There are five wagering opportunities that deserve your attention on Saturday:

1. The Washington Lassie for fillies kicks off a stakes double for two-year-olds at Arlington Park. The favored pair of #7 Diadura and #9 Spirtuality look tough, and I prefer the latter shipping in off a blowout win at Delaware Park. #10 Mo’s MVP deserves attention switching jocks off a no-speed debut where she did pass horses and pick up 7 lengths on the winner.
2. Based on fellow handicapper’s opinions, the Futurity is the most open race of the weekend, as it seems like everyone is picking a different horse except me and Steve Byk, as we both landed on Oso Ready shipping north off a debut win at Ellis Park. I’m bullish on the pea patch maidens and think this one can sit the trip behind favored Wellabled. Outside draw is a mild concern but long run to turn should mitigate.
3. The Happy Ticket kicks off the stakes action on Super Derby day at Louisiana Downs, and we’ll ride that Ellis Park magic on the turf with Majestic Gale, who already has a win around two turns on the turf whereas morning line favorite Chases Dixie Bell has yet to do either, and her breeding doesn’t not inspire confidence that she’ll do either well.
4. The Super Derby is the highlight of the Louisiana Downs season, and it caught some decent horses among its field including Ohio Derby winner Mo Tom and hopeful rising stars (in their connections’ eyes) in Texas Chrome and Dalmore. The former won the local prep for this after chasing American Freedom and Gun Runner previously while the latter won the Affirmed before being thrown to wolves in the Pacific Classic. With tactical speed, I prefer both to Mo Tom who is up against the track profile (2/3 winners around two turns have been “E” or “E/P” types) and is tough to trust at 7-to-5 given he missed lucrative summer targets off a big one. Whateverybodywants is the best alternative outside the obvious top three, as with no speed to his outside, he should work the best trip.
5. The Kentucky Cup Turf is the feature on an already big day at Kentucky Downs with three other stakes that encompass an all-stakes Pick 4 and are part of a $52,000 Pick 5 carryover. Da Big Hoss is a comfortable single for me, as he is just better than these, and the local win last year inspires additional confidence.
