Paladin heads KDFW Pool 5, Zany favored in Oaks Future

The fifth pool of the 2026 Kentucky Derby Future Wager (KDFW) and lone Kentucky Oaks Future Wager (KOFW) will be offered this week beginning at noon ET on Friday. Both pools close Sunday evening.
Both pools feature $2 Win and Exacta wagering, as well as a separate Oaks/Derby Future Double linking selections in both races. The Kentucky Derby Future Wager closes Sunday at 6 p.m. while the Kentucky Oaks Future Wager remains open until 6:30 p.m.
The lone point-scoring races for the Derby and Oaks during this week's pools are the Virginia Derby and Virginia Oaks at Colonial Downs on Saturday.
Pool 5 of the KDFW is headlined by Remsen (G2) and Risen Star (G2) winner #25 Paladin (5-1). The talented son of Gun Runner is expected to make his next start in the April 4 Blue Grass (G1).

There are no refunds in the KDFW or KOFW. If Churchill Downs officials determine during the duration of this week's pools that one of the wagering interests experiences an injury, illness, or other circumstance that would prevent the horse from participating in the Derby or Oaks, betting on the individual horse will be suspended immediately.
The final KDFW is set for April 4-6.
