The History of the Ellis Park Derby
The Ellis Park Derby is a non-graded horse race run at Ellis Park Racing in Henderson, Kentucky. Inaugurated in 2018, the race is relatively new but has been thrusted into the spotlight after the recent announcement that it would be included into the Road to the Kentucky Derby Extended Series.
As a result, the top four finishers will be awarded 50–20–10–5 points respectively to go towards a potential berth in the Kentucky Derby.
