Other frequent Oaklawn riders to watch include Florent Geroux (17 wins in 65 starts, for a 26.2% win rate) and Francisco Arrieta (19 wins from 86 starts, 22.1%). Ramon Vazquez is also having a strong meet. After 88 starts, he has 16 wins and another 33 finishes in the top three, good for a 56% in-the-money rate.
Whether you know him from Emerald Downs or not, keep an eye on Rocco Bowen. Though he only has four wins at the meet, three have come in eight rides over the last week, and all three winners were double-digit prices.
Trainers
Much like last year in Hot Springs, Steve Asmussen and Robertino Diodoro are having a ding-dong duel at the top of the trainer standings.
Asmussen has 21 wins from 92 starts (22.8% win rate), and Diodoro has 20 wins from 68 starts (29.4%).
Brad Cox split his string between Oaklawn and Fair Grounds, but his Oaklawn horses are shining, with 14 wins in 49 starts (28.6%) and 30 (61.2%) on the board.
Weather
A lot can change between now and the end of the week, but make sure to watch the weather in Hot Springs. There is a chance of rain every dayl from Thursday through the weekend.
If it rains, make sure to give a longer look to horses with excellent off-track records or strong mud pedigrees.
