Palm Beach $50,000 St Patrick's Invitational

It's time to run for some serious green.

The 40th Edition of the St Patrick's Invitational is set to roll Saturday at Palm Beach, with one of the most competitive fields we have seen in a long time.  Record breakers and stakes winners are abundant in this Final, where surely the wagering will be spread out across the board.

Here is our preview of each athlete in the field and what we believe will be the final odds once we reach post time:

#1 JS Just Do It  ~ Koppe, Staats & Collins (4-1 Odds)

The surprise pick from this Kennel has been quite impressive since transferring over from Southland Park in January.  6 wins in just 12 starts at Palm Beach has superstar owner Shannon Henry dreaming of victory.  "Nike" did win out of this same rail box last time he was in it on 2/2. Is an amazing 92% board hitter at his new track.

#2 Cardiac Kid  ~ Agganis Kennel (6-1 Odds)

"The Kid" ripped off four straight wins in February, cementing his place in this final.  The Iowa transfer has loved his new home in South FLA, winning against many of the top A Graders at the track with his terrific early speed.  Will need to get out in this one to have any chance at the upset.

#3 Barts Dublin  ~ Douglas Kennel (4-1 Odds)

The "Luck of the Irish" possesses the most wins of any sprinter (19) on the season and has easily been the most consistent. A He's My Man Classic Finalist is sitting in a tough spot between good early speed on both sides, but has a solid close giving him a shot.

How perfect would this story be if the Irish can take home this appropriately named Stakes Title?

#4 Xtenshun  ~ North Shore Kennel (5-1 Odds)

The Classic Champ won't get the historical odds he had in the He's My Man Tourney here.  Interesting story line that he draws the same 4 box as the Classic and does love mid track.  If he gets the lead here, it's a done deal that he's going to win because Xtenshun hasn't ever relinquished a lead in any start this season.

As you can see if his photo, he's licking his chops eagerly waiting this Final!

#5 Superior Tyson  ~ B & B Racing (2-1 Odds)

The hottest sprinter coming into the Final.  "Kid Dynamite" has won three in a row with some blistering times for the top Kennel this season at Palm Beach. The best combo rush and close in the field without question.

#6 Atascocita Camry ~ Suncoast Racing (9-1 Odds)

Could have the longest odds on the board but actually has a chance here. Was a competitive A Grade sprinter before switching to the middle distance and can really pop the lid.  If she gets a gigantic lead in this one, she could pull the stunner.

#7 Nb's KissTheRoad  ~ Royal Racing (11-1 Odds)

Another Classic Finalist. Has to get the lead otherwise she has no shot.  Has been in the quiniela in four of the last six races, which makes handicapping this race for exotics very interesting.

#8 Ethel Is Here  ~  Janie Carroll Kennel (3-1 Odds)

One of the greatest middle distance racers in greyhound history.  The Derby Champion & record holder on the "Rhonda Course" is the ultimate wild card in this Final. No one really can be sure how her game will translate to this shorter distance, as she hasn't run on this course since last August.  One thing is for certain...the thousand of fans around the world will be cheering her on to win this.

This is one wide open Final and should be very entertaining.  From watching these 8 Finalists the past month, the strongest greyhound coming in looks like Superior Tyson.  "Iron Mike" missed out on the He's My Man Classic Final but will take home the big green prize in the finale of the Big 3 Stakes series at Palm Beach.
