Palm Beach Fabulous Friday Matinee Preview 7/15/2016
*Sentinel*
Welcome to one of the greatest days of the week! Each week, Friday comes around and Palm Beach does a tremendous job of putting out their biggest stars for fans to watch and follow. This card will be no different.
Here are the top races we will be following for the Fabulous Friday Matinee action at "The Beach."
*Wiki Ray Donovan*
Race 4 Grade TA 301 Yards
One of our favorite distances in greyhound racing, the super sprint takes center stage here. When super pup #3 Wiki Ray Donovan from the Douglas Kennel switched over to the shorter distance, he went on a tear to end last season winning 5 of 7. Has cooled since then but is in a very winnable race today. Only three actual A Graders grace the oval here with Donovan being one of them.
Look out also for veteran #4 Pepper Cream who bested many of these same rivals last time out, albeit out of the very favorable 1 hole.
Look for Ray Donovan to score in this one.
Picks 3-4-6-1
Race 6 Grade A 545 Yards
"The Luck of the Irish" #6 Barts Dublin from the Douglas Kennel is coming off a rookie campaign where he was just sensational. 27 victories and was just named an honorable mention in the most recent United Greyhound Racing Top 25 National Poll. Was given an extended rest after the season ended and should be rearing to go this afternoon.
Lots of speed on the outside could have Dublin needing his dynamite close to win here. #7 JS Jet Pack, along with #8 Hilco Agnes will bolt early. Both are light on the win percentage but should pick up a board spot.
Dublin gets his first trip to the winners circle in the new season.
Picks 6-7-8-1
*Sentinel*
Race 12 Grade A 545 Yards
#1 Sentinel is the talk of the town in West Palm Beach.
After dominating in the Memorial Day Showdown and winning the July 4th Firecracker 545, the pride of Ryan Racing looks like he is in for one monster of a year. Will look to stay unbeaten in the new campaign and gets his favorite 1 box to fire from, which he is a perfect 4-0 out of all time at "The Beach." To say I like the Puppy Stakes Finalist here would be a huge understatement.
Possible longshot could come from #7 Craigie Piney who was a 17 time winner last season and won from this same setup last time in the 7 hole.
Sentinel continues to roll as the national attention starts to increase.
Picks 1-7-6-4
*JustDoInMyThing*
Race 15 Grade A 545 Yards
One of the biggest puppy prospects on Earth lines up in the finale.
#8 JustDoInMyThing from owner Monte Jacobs scorched the Royal Palm Course at the end of last season, taking nine of ten starts. The only time "Bubba" has been beaten since transferring from Hollywood is against Sentinel and St Pats Champ Superior Tyson. That kind of competition today is no where near what he has been seeing and should romp to end the Matinee.
Picks 8-7-4-2
Top Pick Race 12- #1 Sentinel
Enjoy all of the action race fans!
