Palm Beach Fabulous Friday Matinee Preview 8/12/2016
The Big Red Dog
One of the greatest days of the week is back and Palm Beach looks to deliver another knockout card for this Friday's Matinee. Some of the best greyhound talent in the country will be on display, as three of our top five ranked hounds for July are all lining them up.
Here's the top races we will be following for the Fabulous Friday afternoon action at "The Beach."
"Clifford"
Race 10 Grade A 545 Yards
Big Cliff is turning into one of the best greyhounds in South Florida without question.
The rookie sensation #5 Big Red Dog with only 20 starts under his belt is coming off one of the biggest wins in his career last time out, upsetting top ranked Sentinel. This will be Red's last start before his Puppy Stakes journey begins next week.
If you love early burn, this is the race for you. 1-5 all have exploding speed from the box, including #3 Bf Park Snipe (pictured) from the Agganis Kennel. Also watch out for the Blu Too girls #1 Dancin LaFonda & #2 Blu Too Bette who are coming off speedy victories last time out.
Going with Clifford, but don't be surprised if a long shot hits with all the early boltage we'll see by the first turn.
Picks 5-1-2-4
*Sentinel*
Race 12 Grade A 545 Yards
You know #6 Sentinel is going to be ready to rip up the Royal Palm Course after his last start didn't go as planned.
The early co-season wins leader from Ryan Racing hasn't lost two in a row since the beginning of summer and is in a very favorable draw this afternoon. Another win here will only grow the national attention even more for the National Championship contender.
Picks 6-2-5-8
Race 14 Grade TA 660 Yards
Quietly having another strong summer campaign is #2 Fraulein Morgan from the Janie Carroll Kennel. In the trifecta in all seven starts this season with four wins, Morgan should love the rail position where she has a clear path to the lead.
Look out late for #4 Atascocita Nate who can absolutely fly coming for home.
Morgan owns the "Rhonda" Course in this one.
Picks 2-5-4-3
Race 15 Grade A 545 Yards
This is the one that the crowds will come for and be chanting "MOOOOOOOOOOOSE" all around the grandstands.
#3 GV MooseIsLoose running for the surging Douglas Kennel has become a fan favorite with the awesome racing name, but also for how dynamite he's been racing. The co-wins leader with Sentinel has a tremendous early kick.
Moose might find trouble getting loose here, as box fire again is the name of the game. #4 Sg's Cal Ripken and #2 Atascocita Blah should challenge for first turn supremacy with Moose, which could light up the tote board if either one of them does it.
I'm still going with "The Moose" in a tight finish Matinee finale.
Picks 3-4-2-8
Top Pick Race 12 #6 Sentinel
Enjoy all of the races today fans!
