Palm Beach Friday Matinee Preview 3/6/2015
Fantastic Friday card at Palm Beach without a doubt this afternoon. Many of the top superstars this track has to offer will be on display for the fans to enjoy. The most anticipated race today will come in Race 14 with the two top ranked racers here Hustle It Up & Storm Control squaring off for supremacy. The “Queen of Palm Beach” JS SpeedyPebbles also starts in Race 10.
Here are the top races I will be following for the Matinee action at “The Beach.”
*JS SpeedyPebbles*
#2 JS SpeedyPebbles from owner Shannon Henry is setup in a nice inside post right where she likes it. The 45 time winner the past two seasons is just coming off an extended break after the Daytona 550 and will look to get back to the winner’s circle this afternoon for the first time since January.
#1 Loop A from the Douglas Kennel will certainly be battling with Pebbles for inside position early. The Futurity Champion has been rushing well lately, but has been a bit short coming around the final turn. Will need a sizable lead early to take this one all the way home.
Look out for #8 PJ CarvedInStone from top Kennel Rader Racing, whose in a nice spot on the outside and can close early speed out if he’s near the hunt at the end.
SpeedyPebbles is due for a win and the inside post has me putting her on top this afternoon.

*Hustle It Up*
#4 Hustle It Up from the Janie Carroll Kennel has just been tremendous all season long. Leads the track championship chase with 23 wins and has been on the board an astounding 89% of her starts. Great rush and close combo. Has beaten pretty much every stellar greyhound here….except #8 Storm Control.
Storm from owner Steve Schlachter is in a great spot on the outside. Has one of the top rushes in the entire country and should have plenty of room to break. The two time Stakes winner this season and National Championship runner-up seems to bring his top game when the most is on the line.
Possible long shot could be #5 Turbo Casper from Rader Racing, who does have 16 wins this season.
Storm Control has won 60% of the time from the 8 box in his career at Palm Beach and I think he gets it done again today.

*Atascocita Sybil*
#3 Atascocita Sybil from Suncoast Racing will be going for her third straight W this afternoon on the “Dixie Course.” Does a great job of letting the early speed tire out at this distance and promptly finishes them off at go time.
Look out for her Kennel mate #5 Atascocita Jolie who has the most dynamic close of any greyhound at Palm Beach. In her first crack at the new distance last time out, finished an impressive 2nd. Has hit the board in all 14 races she has started this year. She will break last but watch her on the backstretch as she gets her final kick going. A must watch.
#1 Lucy Lawless (Ethel Is Here’s sister) gets her first start in the Marathon this afternoon.
Sybil continues her dominance at this distance with another victory this afternoon.
