Palm Beach Superstar Saturday Preview 11-14-2015
*Ethel Is Here*
There’s a reason we call it Superstar Saturday.
Palm Beach once again spoils the players and fans with the entertainment today, as two of the top greyhounds in the country KB’s Like A Fox & Ethel Is Here are both in action this afternoon. Along with competitive races all day, the place to watch many of the greatest athletes on Earth will be right here.
Here are the top races I will be following for the Saturday Matinee at “The Beach.”
Race 3 Grade M 545 Yards
Kennel owner Norm Rader will have to fill me on how this greyhound got his name someday. There's usually a good story that comes along with a name that catches your eye right away.
#6 Gunn Yung has looked impressive in two schooling wins, that includes a 12 length winner last time out. I’m paring him with the other hot prospect #3 Blu Too Tarmac from B & B Racing for my play here.
Picks 6-3-8-2

*The Fox*
Race 4 Grade TA 301 Yards
This is a slam dunk race without question.
#1 Kb’s Like A Fox will be the heavy favorite in this one and he should be. The 76 time winner from Rader Racing is just 9 wins short of the all-time career mark here and is looking like he might want a piece of a 3rd straight Track Championship as well. Fox loves the red blanket, as he will be going for his 5th straight W out of the 1 hole. To say I just like him here would be an understatement.
Should be a nice inside jailbreak with kennel mates from the Janie Carroll Team #2 Pepper Cream & #3 Slatex Bakken hitting the back of the ticket.
What does the Fox say?
Picks 1-3-2-6

Race 12 Grade A 545 Yards
I have really enjoyed watching #1 Amanda A Winner from the Champions Racing Team begin her career here and have instant success. 6 wins in just 12 starts is impressive. Ignore the last start that she finished 7th because it was pouring down rain and the track was a hot mess. The 1 box today should have rail running Amanda scoring winning tickets for her fans this afternoon.
Picks 1-3-2-6

*Ethel*
Race 14 Grade TA 660 Yards
If the $50,000 James W. Paul 3/8ths Mile Derby started today, #7 Ethel Is Here from the Janie Carroll Kennel would be the odds on favorite without question. A lot can happen is 3 months, but right now Ethel just looks sensational. The track record holder has won 5 of her last 6 starts and doesn’t really care what box she breaks from. Being a 94% board hitter isn’t too shabby either for my Trifecta/Superfecta players scoring at home.
Possible upset bids might come from Rhonda Course newcomer #1 Rolls Royce from the North Shore Kennel. Drawing the pole position is always in your favor and anything can happen once the lid pops open. Watch out for #5 Sts Jerry Rice, who comes over from the Marathon circuit bringing her monster close with her.
Ethel continues to dominate this distance.
Picks 7-2-1-5
