Palm Beach Thursday Matinee
It's the last day of March and we are ready to roll into April on a winning streak! Terrific Thursday action at Palm Beach should offer some very playable races with great action to watch and play all day long. A star studded finale 15th that includes super pup Kinda Cruel Red will be worth waiting for.
Here are the top races I will be following for the Thursday Matinee card at "The Beach."
*BetOn BetAmerica*
Race 4 Grade TB 301 Yards
This race we certainly have a favorite, with our girl #8 BetOn BetAmerica getting the super sprint start. The walking greyhound billboard for us is sitting in a great spot mid track and is a recent grade drop. Very light on the win percentage with 4 wins in her career, but has a tremendous chance at hitting the board as she has done in over 50% of her races this season.
The one to beat is #4 Bf Par Sniper from Rader Racing. Smoked a 16.92 secs victory last time out from this same 4 hole and is the only true B Grade athlete in this field. Most of this field was in that race as well.
One of the great names this season #5 Fuzzys Robo Cop should wind up the superfecta. If BetAmerica wins, you can be sure we will post the replay on our Facebook and Twitter feeds.
Picks 4-8-7-5
Race 10 Grade C 545 Yards
Going with the class here in #1 Superior Polly from top Kennel B & B Racing. Has the rush to crush on the rail and will take the lead in this one. Can be prone to blowing leads at the line, which could have you looking for closers. #5 Barts Seabreeze & #6 Pat C Jetter should be right there at the line.
Polly gets her 4th win of the season....just barely.
Picks 1-4-6-5
*Java Beretta*
Race 12 Grade B 545 Yards
Veteran #8 Java Beretta from The Champions Racing Team is just itching to get back with the stars of A Grade and has a fantastic chance to do it today. The 2012 model gets to fire out of the best box of them all and has no real early speed around to impede.
Watch out for "Oh So Fine" #6 Pat C Shyne from the Koppe, Staats & Collins Team who also wants her A Grade status back and can absolutely fly on the backstretch.
Beretta gets career win #31 here.
Picks 8-6-4-7
Race 15 Grade A 545 Yards
*Kinda Cruel Red*
What a way to end the month of March with a Grade A thriller to wrap it up! There is absolutely speed to burn in this finale, with a few of the top greyhounds in all of South FLA trying take this one.
The main focus will be on top Puppy Stakes favorite #7 Kinda Cruel Red from the Janie Carroll Team. The Bella Infrared pup has lit this track up since showing up last Fall and is right on the cusp of greatness. Ran a clunker 7th last time out from the outside, but I can't imagine that happening again today. A bounce back performance is highly probable.
Other early burn to watch out for comes from #6 Nb's KissTheRoad, who blazed a 29.48 secs victory last time out. The double Stakes finalist is very tough to catch on the lead if she gets it here.
"Nike" #5 JS Just Do It from all star owner Shannon Henry is also a stakes finalist and is a must in any exotic plays you might have with his 80% board hit rate. Could steal this one at a decent price.
Cruel Red gets back to the winners circle where he belongs to wrap up the racing in March. Outside jailbreak play for me.
Picks 7-6-5-8
Top Pick Race 12 - #8 Java Beretta
