Paulassilverlining riding hot streak into Honorable Miss

Winner of the Matron (G2) at two but only in one of five starts during her sophomore campaign, Paulassilverlining has enjoyed a breakout season this term, winning three of four starts. Notably, her 3 3/4-length romp in the April 17 Distaff at Aqueduct came at the expense of Cavorting, subsequent winner of the Ruffian (G2) and Ogden Phipps (G1).
"She's really putting it together this year," trainer Michelle Nevin said. "She's matured. What I think helps Paula is that she is just so relaxed and chilled-out, and doesn't put too much pressure on herself in the mornings. She's saving herself for the afternoon."
Generally a pace presser, Paulassilverlining drew the rail for the fourth consecutive time and figures to chase multiple stakes winner Disco Chick and Winning Colors (G3) winner Diva Express. Multiple graded stakes winner Sarah Sis also has some speed, but might join the favorite in a stalking role.
Bar of Gold has placed five times in graded company. This spring, she squeezed a victory in the $200,000 Critical Eye for New York-breds in between third-place efforts in the Distaff and Bed o' Roses H. (G3).
Haveyougoneaway has also enjoyed recent success in the New York-bred stakes ranks, but also beat open stakes rivals, including Sarah Sis, twice at Oaklawn earlier this year.
