The Pick 3 of the Week will come from Gulfstream Park on Saturday.
Race 7 Wager
- $2 Pick 3: 2,3,4,8 with 6,8 with 1,7 ($32)
Race 7 – Maiden Special Weight
Four three-year-olds in the seven-furlong dash on the dirt stand out to me most in the field of 10. Chad Brown’s #2 Amberjack (2-1) was a very good second on the oval on Jan. 25 and will be a player with expected improvement in his return. The Complexity colt will have David Egan on board.
Rusty Arnold’s second timer #3 Unsearchable (4-1) was a positive third at first asking and will move forward for a barn much better with experienced runners. First timer #4 Final Story (7-2) has been working fast for Brad Cox and could be any kind. #8 Bridgesong (9-2) led late in his unveiling on the surface and is an obvious contender for Phil Bauer.

Race 8 – Optional Claiming
A field of 10 fillies and mares will dash five-eighths on the green in a difficult middle leg of the sequence. I’ll go two-deep in the heat led by the Ian Wilkes-trained #6 Justinqueso (6-1). The stakes winner has back class and ran a nice second in her latest turf attempt at Churchill Downs in the fall.
The multiple stakes placed #8 Cart Girl Sam (3-1) drops down out of a tough black-type tilt on the oval last time and will appreciate the class relief with Edwin Gonzalez taking the reins.
Race 9 – Hutcheson S.
Seven sophomores will travel six panels on the dirt in the final piece of the play. #1 Arbiter (2-1) has yet to be headed from a pair of runs to date, and the $375,000 son of Charlatan will try the dirt for the first time. The Wesley Ward pupil will be sent from the break with Joel Rosario taking the reins.
Stakes winner #7 Diciassette (8-5) ran into a fine field in the Swale S. last time in his seasonal debut and fits well in this field from a good outside slot in the dash. The Patrick Biancone pupil will have Junior Alvarado in the controls.
