Pick 3 of the Week: Laurel Park Saturday, Nov. 22

November 21st, 2025

A trio of black-type events will headline the Saturday card at Laurel Park, and I will make the sequence my Pick 3 of the Week.

Race 6 Wager

  • $2 Pick 3: 1,4,12 with 1,6 with 5,6 ($24)

Race 6 – Willa on the Move S.

A deep field of fillies and mares will dash 6 1/2 panels on the dirt in the first stakes race of the afternoon, and I will use a trio of ladies to commence the play. Multiple stakes heroine #1 Onyx Ten (9-2), as well as the Michael Moore duo of #4 Takethemoneyhoney (3-1) and #12 Alani (6-1), are the ones.

Race 7 – Dave’s Friend S.

The boys will speed six furlongs on the dirt in the middle leg with nine signed on. #1 Subrogate (5-1) was impressive in taking the De Francis Memorial Dash on the oval two back in his lone local appearance to date for Jorge Duarte. The Arrogate five-year-old has the right running style to sit off the expected speed duel and run them down in the stretch with Jevian Toledo in the stirrups.

#6 Maximus Meridius (4-1) was a game runner-up in a deep heat at Parx last time and fits in this spot, even though I feel that his price should be higher. The Butch Reid trainee will be part of the busy front end under Sanchez.

Race 8 – Richard W. Small S.

A cast of six will run nine panels on the main strip in the finale. #5 Barbadian Runner (6-5) has been on a fine run of form for conditioner Henry Walters with five stakes tallies and two additional placings in 2025. He beat the fantastic Post Time at the distance and on the oval most recently, and the consistently good sophomore will be tough to upend with a repeat of his latest performance.

#6 Secret Zipper (9-2) is controlling speed in the race and is worth including for value. The Gary Capuano trainee had a three-race win streak on the oval in the winter, and the four-year-old could get brave late if left alone for too long.
