Pick 3 of the Week: Monmouth Park Saturday July 26, 2025

July 25th, 2025

The closing leg of the Pick 3 of the Week is the feature on the nine-race Saturday card at Monmouth Park

Race 3 Wagers

  • $2 Pick 3: 2,4,5,10 with 3,4,8 with 7 ($24)
  • $3 Pick 3: 2,4,5,10 with 4 with 7 ($12)

Race 4 – Maiden Special Weight

New Jersey-bred juvenile fillies will speed five-eighths on the main oval in the opening leg with 10 signed on. I’ll spread with multiple lassies to get things started. #2 Jersey’s the Boss (8-1) is kin to a two-year-old winner and goes for a trainer in Huston who is capable with youngsters.

Graham Motion’s #5 Party Guest (4-1) has a juvenile-winning sibling from one to race and could be live on debut. Second timer #4 J J Pacheco (3-1) and Dan Ward’s #10 Clever Charlie (6-1) will also make the ticket.

Race 5 – Maiden Claiming

The middle leg is a turf dash for fillies and mares. #4 Pretty Shy (3-1) is the clear one to beat and would be a logical single in her first run for Delgado. The Social Inclusion filly is kin to a turf graduate and ran well while facing much better in three grassy outings last campaign. The sophomore will be forcing the tempo from the break with Chantal in the stirrups.

#3 Khozanall (9-2) flashed big speed on the dirt in a race that was washed off the lawn at first asking, and the Pompay pupil might be the pace of the race on the surface change. #8 That Thing You Do (8-1) didn’t show much in a dirt debut in August, but the Mike Dini trainee is bred to like the grass and will go for a capable layoff conditioner. Sonny Leon will take the reins.

Race 6 – Monmouth Oaks (G3)

Following her sharp triumph in the Delaware Oaks (G3) most recently, #7 Fondly (3-1) was given an enormous amount of praise from conditioner Graham Motion, who stated that she is as talented as any three-year-old filly that he has trained. That’s good enough for me, as I’ll make the daughter of Upstart a single in the affair to close out the play.
