Pick 4 of the Week: Laurel Park Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025

Laurel Park scenic @ Maryland Jockey Club
A total of eight black-type races will be contested at Laurel Park during the 40th edition of Maryland Millions Day on Saturday. I’ll aim to take down the closing Pick 4 on the big afternoon of action.
Race 9 Wager
$1 Pick 4: 1,4,6,8,12 with 9,10 with 5 with 4,5,8,9 ($40)
Race 9 – Nursery S.
An overflow field of 16 juveniles will vie in the demanding opening leg. I’ll spread to get things started with Ashby’s #1 Lundi Loot (5-1), smart debut winner #4 Big Cuddle (3-1), stakes star #6 Live Stream (12-1), Gary Capuano’s #8 Buds Notion (6-1), and first-out graduate #12 Mo’s Glitter (10-1).
Race 10 – Ladies S.
The 1 1/16-mile turf test for fillies and mares attracted 11, with two of those on the also-eligible list. #9 Mopo (2-1) had a nice prep for this in a turf dash on the course most recently, and if the Phil Capuano charge can rate to some extent from the outside post, then she will be very tough against a modest group. The Great Notion filly has shown marked improvement since moving to the grass and will have Mychel Sanchez in the saddle.
#10 Lifelovenlaughter (1-1) is riding a nice streak in advance of the affair and will be a must-use if she draws into the field for Trombetta.

Race 11 – Classic S.
Brittany Russell’s #5 Post Time (3-5) is the class of the field and has a sterling 10-for-10 mark on the Laurel main strip. He won’t be a great price, and the five-year-old will be a very popular single in the sequence, but I can’t imagine siding with any other contender in the tilt.
Race 12 – Sprint S.
The closing piece will be contested on the dirt with nine dashers signed on for the six-furlong heat. #9 Twisted Ride (3-1) is winless in 2025, but the Grade-1 placed gelding has kept good company and has appeal in the finale.
#8 Haileysfirstnotion (2-1) has been first or second in six straight and comes off a big try when missing by a nose to a good one. Stakes hero #5 Slam Notion (5-2) makes sense over a course that he performs well on, while #4 Wickeddivine (30-1) has improved with each career run and is worth including at a massive price.
