The Pick 4 of the Week will consist of the closing quartet of races from Turfway Park on Saturday.
Race 7 Wager
- 50-cent Pick 4: 1,7,8 with 2,6 with 1,7,11 with 2,4,12,13,14 ($45)
Race 7 – Maiden Special Weight
A group of 10 three-year-old fillies will travel one mile in the opening leg. I’m not super confident in the first piece of the play and will use a trio of ladies to get things underway with the improving #1 Princess Julie (5-2), interesting first timer #7 Arlo’s Gammy (8-1), and Wesley Ward’s #8 Kilby Girl (4-1).
Race 8 – Optional Claiming
Nine sophomore fillies will run six panels on the Tapeta in the second part of the sequence. The Brad Cox-trained #2 Cadenza (5-2) was a close third in her local debut in December and gets Lasix for her first run of the season. I expect the Charlatan chestnut to be a major player with Luan Machado in the irons.
#6 Lorelei Lee (4-1) closed with excellent energy in a going-away score at first asking on the strip for Mike Maker. The Nyquist three-year-old has worked twice since her sharp debut and could be a good one going forward.
Race 9 – John Battaglia Memorial S.
I will go three deep in the feature with two-time stakes winner #1 Street Beast (5-2), Central Park S. victor #7 Attfield (8-1), as well as Leonatus S. runner-up #11 Fulleffort (3-1).
Race 10 – Maiden Claiming
The closing race of the afternoon is for the boys going one mile on the synthetic with an overflow field of 14 signed on. I’ll spread in the finale that lacks clear-cut contenders. #2 Money Memolo (5-2) could have needed his last off the long layoff, and the Matthew Sims pupil has placed in five of six lifetime runs on the course in his career, as well.
#4 Pack A Lunch (7-2) plunges from the $30,000 ranks and runs for a trainer in Cowans who does especially well moving down the class ladder. Dylan Machado has the assignment. I’ll also use first-time starter #12 Honor Point (10-1), as well as both of the also-eligibles, #13 Franklin Wilder (6-1) and #14 Lord Ripley (3-1).

This past weekend @TurfwayPark, both winners of the two feeders had massive ROI's, as Rocco Cusat churned $80 into over $2,700 and Sara Campbell into over $1,800!
They also each won an $800 qualifier seat!
