Pick 6 Betting Preview: Hollywood Park $226,597 Carryover, November 24, 2013

November 24th, 2013

There is a huge carryover of over $226,000 on Sunday and Hollywood Park, which starts in race four, a maiden special weight spring for two-year-olds.

Indianapolis is a first-time-starter for top connections and is likely to start as the favorite. The $490,000 yearling purchase last year has been working steadily since late August and looks ready to roll. If he is well bet, he's a single. Baffert trains Indianapolis and also has Icy Ride, a horse co-owned by his wife and the connections of Game On Dude.

Swiss Bliss is the morning line favorite for race five, making his first start off the claim for trainer Jack Carava. Swiss Bliss; however, has not won since 2012 and is winless in seven career starts at Hollywood Park. Gabbiano is also trained by Carava and will try to take them gate to wire.

Another maiden special weight race up next, this time going six furlongs on the turf course. Arkenstone and Nooten are making their second career start and should improve while My Secret Affair is making his third career start and has run on the turf before. Kozani is a debut runner for trainer John Sadler and Hronis Racing, connections that must be respected no matter what they send out.

Race seven is the On Trust Handicap for Cal-bred or sired horses with Cyclometer the pick to take them start to finish. There does not appear to be a ton of speed in the race so jockey Mike Smith can dictate his own way early. Rousing Sermon has rode some biased race track at Santa Anita to a win and second in his last two and his last two career wins have come on the dirt at Santa Anita. At Hollywood Park, Rousing Sermon has started seven times with one win, three seconds and two thirds. Compari rates a long shot look for his first start since late August.

Back on the turf for race eight and contention runs deep. Hidethegoodstuff is 5-2 on the line with another three horses between 3-1 and 4-1. Promiscuoussances is 8-1 on the line and could get a good trip on or near the pace from post eight.

The finale is a $20,000 maiden claimer with most bettors focusing on Amanda and the first-time-starter Sugar High Kaylin. Sugar High Kaylin looks to have found a good spot for her first career start, the other horses in the race has lost a combined 73 starts. Rich in Tradition was 24-1 in her last race and has lost 18 career starts, but now finds herself at 5-1. Any given Sunday, right?

First post at Hollywood Park is 3:30 pm ET with race four scheduled to break from the gate at 5:02.
