Player Quick Pick: Arlington for 6/29/2014

June 29th, 2014

by Ryan Dickey

Arlington race 4 | 3:33 pm ET Optional Claimer (100) for 3 yo+ going 6 f (A)

$100k optional claimers running for a $36,000 purse on a Sunday afternoon at Arlington Park.

MOST PROBABLE WINNER: 6-Bet Seattle

The class of the field, and surefire winner of this race is Bet Seattle.  Only the 1-Helooksthepart has a 2014 Beyer figure anywhere close to the 102 that Bet Seattle threw two races back.  Helooksthepart did that three back in a $25k optional claimer, and last out, Rosie Napravnik could get him home no better than fourth as the odds-on favorite.  Bet Seattle has won three of his last four starts and won four of his last seven.  Put alone on top, and single in any multi-race bets.  Will be a very short price.

VALUE HORSE: 8-Four Left Feet

Four Left Feet has a cool name, and reminds me that I, personally, can not dance.  He also is a classy 6 year old gelding by Trippi, who won the Swale Stakes, Flamingo Stakes, Tom Fool Handicap, as well as the Vosburgh Stakes in 2000.  On June 1, Bet Seattle won an $80k 6 furlong OC race at Arlington with Four Left Feet coming in third.  Look for this horse to come in second today, providing an ice-cold 6-8 exacta.  Play underneath in exotics.

OTHERS TO CONSIDER: 4-Sir Applesolutely

Sir Applesolutely was out-classed in the G3 Hanshin here at Arlington on May 24 for his last start.  He’s dropping back down to the OC ranks, although at $20k higher than he’s used to.  The horse is running for the second time in his second stint under Chris Block after racing 6 times for Neil Pessin.  Look for him to hit the board at the back-end of exotics here.

“BIG LEBOWSKI COOL NAME ALERT”: 7-Calmer Than You

Outclassed here.  Do not give him the money, Lebowski.
