Player Quick Pick for 2/13/2014

In a week that featured stake and cup races from California to Florida and across the world to Australia, tonight we are so lucky to get another great betting race.

In this race, lets start with the 3 WATT LUCK. This horse, in just 19 career starts, has placed in 10 of those winning 6. He won in his last start at the same distance and surface. Adds top Jockey Shane Arnold. The next one that I want to look at is the 6 IDLE CHAT. First of all lets just say with jockey Robert Thompson on the mount, it's never a bad bet. As the baby of the bunch with just 8 starts, he placed in five of those and winning 3. Only one start on this surface and he won it. He has steadily moved up in class with each race and this jump up I don't think will affect him either.

My top selection is the top weight 1 LEVIOSA. In my opinion, I think this horse will find himself racing on Saturdays. He has won a quarter of a million dollars. He won his last race with Robert Thompson. Picks up apprentice jockey Daniel Holten which is my absolute and only concern for this one not winning. In 160 starts last year for Daniel his record was 23-22-19 not to bad at all. What I like most about this horse is that in 4 starts at this race track he has won all 4.

My long shot wager is on the 5 AL NOVA. Drops down in distance from the 7f to the 6f where he clearly has had his best races. AL NOVA has faced tougher class than other horses in this race. He won two starts back at the 6f distance at a benchmark 70.
