Pope secures Medaglia d'Oro filly for $1,450,000 at F-T Saratoga

Mandy Pope went to $1.45 million for Hip No. 191, a Medaglia d'Oro filly out of the Canadian stakes winner Whisper To Me, at Tuesday night's second session of the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale. Consigned by Denali Stud (Craig & Holly Bandoroff), agent, the Kentucky-bred is a half-sister to Grade 2 winner Overheard

Stonestreet and Coolmore teamed up to acquire Hip 140, a Tapit full brother to Grade 2-placed stakes winner Royal Obsession, for $1,250,000 Tuesday night. The colt counts as his second dam Grade 1 winner Magnificent Song. He was consigned by Gainesway, agent.

Also among the popular Tapits Tuesday evening was Hip 168, a filly that was gaveled down to Sallusto and Albina Agents for $800,000. Out of the Grade 3-winning Super Espresso, a daughter of Medaglia d'Oro, the yearling counts as her third dam Broodmare of the Year Courtly Dee.
