Redemption Stakes Highlights Weekend
Weekends are always exciting at bestbet Jacksonville, but this weekend we will take it to another level. It might just be a small stakes event, but stakes races as what drives the soul. The best of the best heading to post, doing all they can, and trying to win the toughest race that they may face in a long time. This time out it is the 2016 edition of the Redemption Sprint Stakes Race finals on a stellar card Saturday evening, but that is not the only great race worth wagering on this weekend at bestbet Jacksonville. Let’s take a closer look at this weekend’s worthy races and see if we can get you cashing some tickets, and taking home some money, over 550, 660, and 770 yards!
Race 10 – Everything is going for C Ville Wynter in this effort. Talk about the planets aligning, Wynter is a multi-stakes finalist that absolutely loves the 8 box. Here she gets the tiger strips for the third time in her last 5 trips around the oval, and in the other 2, she posted up convincing victories. More of the same? I think so! She might have to catch the big time early speeder, and 3 grade A winner in her last 6 starts, Flying Rose if she wants to get the job done. Also watch out for the always lurking and closing threat Pat C Dashboard, and never count out DQ. Sassy’s Shadow is hot off a win, rested and ready to go again, and gets the one box tonight. (8-5-6-1)
Race 15 – Over too 660 for this race and we get to see more greyhound trying out the route as the start of the $50,000 Orange Park Derby looms at the end of the month. Easy pickins here though as the fastest greyhound at the racetrack over 660, Barts Risingstar gets the one box. He is complete monster from this post position and should break and dominate this field. Trying to push the early pace will be the talented Kiss This, but late she is not watch for the big dog at the wire. The 770 track record holder Herstal is hot off a win and solid grade A Pat C Fracking could also be in mix at the wire as both are extremely strong closers. (1-4-6-7)
Race 11 – Easi Charlie might have run into trouble in round 1 of the Redemption stakes, but this field is not quite that caliber of that stakes field. From a good outside post, she should clear early on and then it is off to the races for this final looking pup. One on only two solid grade A’s in the field, she will prove she deserves to win. O Ya Casey Jones is the other solid grade A and could be the only other greyhound with a shot to beat Charlie in this effort. Look for him to be around the lead throughout in this effort. Others to consider include The late gaining threat Shoot To Thrill and the rising in grade closer Kaias Daydream. (6-1-7-4)
Race 7 – Take the advantage where you can, and in this evenly matched up race you have to like the chances of Atascocita Sully. Why? POST POSITION! In his last 3 races he has started from this spot on two occasions and he has won both of those race. Look for a big rush early and for him to find a way to win once again. Trying to ruin his plans will be a pair of closers from the inside. Kc’s Tess will be flying up at the wire to challenge and Sassy’s Brandy could be an upset winner if she can be close at the start. (IE look back 4 races) Watch for Gs Hermes to set the early pace, but in the stretch he will be no match for the closers as they head for the wire. (8-3-4-7)
Race 9 – Over too 660 for this one and I go with a flyer. Sometimes they work out, sometimes they do not, but if you are looking for a price, this might be the race that gives it to you. Ben Affleck is my choice? Why? Research! This greyhound was in stakes 660 races not that long ago at Southland. Here in the 1 box and back at home over 660, I expect him to break, shock the field early, and hold on late for the slim win. Pushing him all the way will be the talented trio of strong 660 yard greyhounds. Pat C Outbounds won the puppy stakes, but has transitioned well to 660 and has 4 quinielas in 5 races. Lk’s Centuria is rested well and boasts 3 scores in her last 6 trips, including her return race last time out. Don’t forget about Flying Gigawatt either. This Berland puppy has not missed the board in his last 5 straight and has climbed back up to grade A through hard work and determination. (1-5-8-2)
Race 11 – Stakes time here in the finals of the Redemption stakes, and in this format, every greyhound in the field finished in the money in their last effort. Saying this was a talented field of greyhounds, might be an understatement as we get to witness not only some of the best here at bestbet Jacksonville, but some of the best in the entire country. No doubt you have to pick Seldom Told to win this race. This greyhound has peeled off 7 wins in a row and he just keeps getting stronger and stronger since returning to live racing just a couple of months ago. His semi-final trip was a monster race where he refused to lose. Posted well here, he will be on a mission to post up his 19th win in his 25 starts at bestbet. Making him actually work hard will be the other unstoppable force at the racetrack, Charlie Bale. Charlie is as fast as Charlie wants to be and might have even more gears that Seldom Told does in the stretch. Sure he can take play around at times, but his raw speed and talent is not in question. His only issue is that he gets too far behind early on and has to come from too far back to get to greyhounds before the wire. Tonight from a great post, he could clear, and if this dynamic duo locks up on the lead, it could be a donnybrook at the way to the wire. Don’t count out Real Good Feelin either. She is not the also ran from DQ, she won too in round number one and beat Charlie Bale in the process. The 8 box is fine for her, but if she wants a chance to steal away the crown, she will need to hit the lid in this race and put some lengths between her and the rest of the field. She is not short by any means and could draw away from almost anyone at the racetrack on the lead, but the two that might be behind her and not just common place greyhounds. All of them might have to work hard just to win, that is if Kc’s Todd decides to show up and break in this race. Arguably the best early speeder in this effort, Kc’s Todd loves to break inside and could set the pace all the way to the stretch in this effort. No one he can last all the way home against all of these talented closers, but there could be trouble behind and stranger things have happened. I expect a big break and for him to give his all once again here as he factors on or near the lead for the majority of this race. Just too short late, he still finds a spot in the superfecta at the wire. (3-7-8-2)
Race 15 – Heading out to the longer, LONGER, distance, this race will be the marathon variety and take place over the 770 yard course. No Herstal here, you know the track record holder, so we have to switch gears and find a new favorite to pick. How about Barts Thatsextra? Currently he has the fastest time of the bunch over 70 yards, is in grade A, has run the route recently, and has enough left late to overcome the cheap early speeder. Working hard, I think he wins a thriller at the wire. C Ville Hope could be the one to catch. Breaking from a good post, this solid grade A greyhound is no stranger to the marathon route and has fared pretty well in the past over this distance. Her only drawback is against the tougher greyhound she has been short in the stretch. Tonight expect more of the same. Lee Sally also gets some love as another solid grade A competitor in the mix. She loves this distance and has finished third twice over 770 yards in her last 5 trips. A solid chaser, look for her to be around throughout in this effort. Last but not least is Tomco Digger. Sure he is in a bit over his head in this race, but you never know. He looks the part, finished 3rd in his last marathon, but grade D is not grade A. We will see how it goes for the class jumper from this great one box. (6-2-7-1)
Friday evening – September 30th, 2016
Race 7 – Nothing like a stakes winner to kick off the weekend. This year’s bestbet Sprint Classic winner, Hey Hey Daddy is ready for action in his red tux. A closer by nature, Daddy will be too closer too early not to take home the top spot at the finish line. Just too much class of this field tonight. Upstart Braska Mauve has taken well to the racetrack and should be a factor, as well as, the ankle burner Pat C Top Shelf from an advantageous post position. Boc’s Andross could be dangerous as well, if she can get loose from a tough middle starting box. (1-7-2-5)Race 10 – Everything is going for C Ville Wynter in this effort. Talk about the planets aligning, Wynter is a multi-stakes finalist that absolutely loves the 8 box. Here she gets the tiger strips for the third time in her last 5 trips around the oval, and in the other 2, she posted up convincing victories. More of the same? I think so! Saturday matinee – October 1st, 2016
Race 7 – Tough race here as they are not true standouts, but I’ll go with the class and see where that gets me. Godzilla Who is a solid grade A that has won 2 of his last 4 starts. With great early speed, he will be in control early here and they will have to come and get him in the matinee if they want to win. I think he survives at the wire to win. Pushing him late should be the veteran O Ya Gunsmoke from a great outside post position. Coming into her own threat Kc’s Childress should take advantage of the post and make her presence known in the stretch, and don’t sleep on Ww Speed Train either. Another solid grade A that likes the inside. If she is loose early on, she too could be upset minded today. (4-8-3-2)Race 11 – Easi Charlie might have run into trouble in round 1 of the Redemption stakes, but this field is not quite that caliber of that stakes field. From a good outside post, she should clear early on and then it is off to the races for this final looking pup. One on only two solid grade A’s in the field, she will prove she deserves to win. Saturday evening – October 1st, 2016
Race 3 – You know it’s going to be a good night when there is a grade A race in the 3rd on the card. That means several others are headed your way and tonight they come over all 3 distances. Here Touch to Much looks like the one to beat. With back to back wins, and 3 in his last 5 starts, he has things rolling for DQ. Early speed is the key to his success, but he will be pressed early and often from a couple of other early speeders. Rams Big Dan T and Ww Standardissue seem to be back on their games right now with 3 quinielas in their last 3 races in a row, and that includes a pair of wins for each. Late recent addition Rt Banana Foster could throw her hat in the ring as well. (6-8-2-5)Race 7 – Take the advantage where you can, and in this evenly matched up race you have to like the chances of Atascocita Sully. Why? POST POSITION! In his last 3 races he has started from this spot on two occasions and he has won both of those race. Look for a big rush early and for him to find a way to win once again. Sunday matinee – October 2nd, 2016
Race 11 – Sunday is the race of living up to your name. LOL! Stocks Arerising is trying his best from the 1 box in this effort. We know that she likes it here as he has won back to back races in red and looks to clear early again today. I different greyhound without the lead, she must be really close early on if she wants to win here. Ww’s Rockrevival has done just that in her last two races. She has revived from the slump and has posted up back to back victories. She has been breaking again and that has been the difference maker for her in those efforts. Once again a strong break is needed in order to steal a win. Look out for the wide legs too as Pat C Zz Top can put the pedal to the metal late if he can get outside from the 2 box just like she did 4 starts go, and Game Of Thrones is loving the racetrack and seems to find a way into the money at the wire. Trend continues today.ADVERTISEMENT
